There are some things you wish you could change at times in either Knights of the Old Republic game. Notice that usually in both Knights of the Old Republic games you have yourself and your party members when they wear default clothing, they have a unique style of clothes. The problem generally is that you get nothing with them; meaning you don’t have some bonus attributes or any other types of protection with it, which kind of bites in a way because most people are looking for some sort of armor to protect their NPC’s as soon as possible.
Raven Vexus makes his FileFront debut with a simple mod change to the first clothing variant (the most commonly used one) that you will get when you first start your Knights of the Old Republic game. You know how Trask comes in and tells you that they’re in a crisis and go get your gear and head out. One of the items you get is clothing and that has no bonuses. This mod will give you that. This exact item is worn by Carth, Mission, Bastila, and Canderous when they join your party. So now with this mod, when they join your party, they will have some bonuses added to them.
What you now get is bonuses with the clothing variant item, which are mentioned in the readme file. Yes, just about anybody with the KOTOR Tool could do this, but not everybody mods and it’s nice sometimes for simply yet benefitting mod changes are made for the non-modders out there. That is why we have this site so we can share our mods and talents for those who want to have options. Enjoy! :D

====================================================== KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC MODIFICATION ====================================================== AUTHOR: Raven Vexus EMAIL: [email protected] NAME: Clothing Boost CREDITS: Ummm... me... FILENAME: clothing_boost.zip FILE SIZE: 2kb DATE RELEASED: August 20, 2007 DESCRIPTION: For me, one thing that bugged me in Knights of the Old Republic was how most characters looked better in their basic clothing attire. But wearing the basic clothes was pretty much suicide against harder enemies, since they provide nothing to the stats. This is just a basic thing I made mainly for my own use, but figured if anyone else felt the same that I did, they could try it out too. Basically, this gives the clothing in the game small boost in stats, so it's more like regular armor. That way, you can have the characters in their original costumes but not worry about the lack of protection. The boost isn't anything big; I added +5 to dexterity and +5 defense bonus, as well as +3 added to saving throws. IIRC,I think the +5/+5 was about average in one of the armors boosts in the game, and I didn't want to go overboard and make it so you're invincible. Plus some people will probably still want to use certain armors anyways, so if it's too weak for certain characters you can just give that character any other armor in the game. Or if you prefer the clothing, then you can sell extra armors and use the money towards credits. INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Just put the file into your override file (or make one in your KoToR directory if you don't have one). This will give all the clothing in the game the boosts. To uninstall, simply remove the file (though I can't imagine how big a difference it would make to keep it or not) COMMENTS: I'm not much of a modder. This was just something that bugged me, and I wanted to have the original look of the clothing (prefferably the scouts original costume) without being a weak target. It only took about a minute to make really... BUGS: As far as I'm aware, no bugs as of yet. PERMISSIONS: Quite honestly, I couldn't care any less if you use this, copy this, edit this or do whatever with it. Like I said, it was only a small minute long thing anyways. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. THIS MODIFICATION IS PROVIDED AS-IS AND IS NOT SUPPORTED BY BIOWARE/OBSIDIAN ENTERTAINMENT OR LUCASARTS OR ANY LICENSERS/SPONSORS OF THE MENTIONED COMPANIES.
