One of the things you do a lot in role playing games like the Knights of the Old Republic games is going through dialogue sequences. I think at times developers really get sick of dialogue because there is much in a game like this and then they just cut out parts they feel they don’t need. Later we find out about some of the stuff cut and flip out because in our minds it was just flipping awesome and we wonder why “this” scene or “that” scene was cut.

We have another welcome matt to the modding world by the username Allronix, who is making her debut with FileFront and modding the first Knights of the Old Republic game. As you may have guessed it, it’s a mod that has new and restored dialogue since that was the topic of conversation in the first paragraph. ;)

If you’re looking for some new altering and restored scenes that were cut from KOTOR, this mod will provide that. One scene she specifically points out is a scene where your PC will haul off Carth and smack him. For you Carth haters, I’m sure this will be an attractive option. There are some surprises, even for me because the author didn’t mention them in her readme and I don't have time to do a play-through just to make a full report, so you’ll have to find out what those surprises are on your own. Well, what are you waiting for? Download! :D

This pack adds a few more options to the dialogue, and restores some of the options that had been cut. The ones without voices are the ones I came up with, seeing as I don't have the cast on speed-dial (though one can wish).

I've separated them out into 3 categories, so one can choose the ones they want to install. "Crew" dialogues are the ones for the Ebon Hawk's crew. "Scenes" correspond to scenes and characters you encounter in the course of the game. "Other Mods" contain homebrew dialogue files for two of my favorite mods - the Exar Kun temple and the recruit Yuthura mod.

"Crew" contains the dialogue files for:
Carth
Mission
Bastila
Canderous
Juhani
Jolee

"Scenes" contains
Calo Nord's fight 
Sherruk (the Mandalorian leader on Dantooine)
Dustil (bailing him out of the academy/insults for a female PC)
Saul Karath (the Leviathan torture sequence)
The Leviathan aftermath (scripts k_pebo_carthrom.ncs and k_pebo_carthromn.ncs)

To install:

Go into the sub-folder
Copy the dialogue file(s) and scripts (ncs) you want to install
Paste to your KOTOR override folder

Ever find yourself shouting lines at the screen in a character’s voice? Ever wanted more to say to and from your party? You will find options for LS/DS, male and female Revans in this mod. (Oh, and as much as I love Carth, gentlemen, I did put an option in for your male Revan to haul off and deck him...)

I started writing dialogue and stories for these characters because my niece asked me to transcribe the game into something she could read. I’ve got several KOTOR fanfics at fanfiction.net and kotorfanmedia.com as a result. 

I started this mod because I loaded a lot of other people’s mods onto my copy. The weak spot was, inevitably, the dialogue. Too much of it literally screamed “THIS IS A MOD.” So, to make it “blend” with the rest of the game, I started to alter the dialogue on the mods until it looked a bit closer to the dialogue on the original game. That gave me the idea of going into the game’s files and adding the lines I ended up shouting at the screen at one point or another. The result is this pack.
