File Description

Prime makes his FileFront debut with this new robe mod for use to enjoy. The particular mod has a new base for the Jedi robes in the original Knights of the Old Republic game that looks like the Jedi robes of the Prequel Trilogy. The new base design is made by the author and many people have used that base to make new Jedi robe skins (including myself). This is where the roots of that started back in early 2004. It finally made its way here to FileFront.

This robe gives you two new robes to play with. A Jedi looking one and a Sith looking one. The Jedi one with some light brown coloring to it, while the Dark Jedi one is a grey colored robe with some black on it. The Jedi robe can be found off of Nemo’s remains on Dantooine where you find the Star Map. The Dark Jedi robe can be found in Ajunta Pall’s tomb on Korriban. Each robe gives the bonuses of the Qel-Droma robe you find on Korriban, which are +2 to Wisdom, and +5 to Defense. They do not restrict the light or dark side of the Force, so wear them at any Force alignment.

Also keep in mind that these robes are made for male characters. They also have Caucasian and African-American skin colors for the hands available since the author doesn’t like doing gloves. For those who want to use the African-American colors, the TGA files are labeled with the word black on it. You’ll need to change that before putting them in your override folder. Enjoy the new robes! :D

Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.

KOTOR New Jedi Robes Mod
========================

Author: Prime

Description:
------------
This mod adds new robes to Knights of the Old Republic. Included are both
light and dark coloured robes for male Jedi characters. Along with the
change in appearance, these robes provide the following bonuses (the same
bonuses provided by the Qel-Droma robes):

+2 Wisdom
+5 defense
+8 max dexterity bonus

The files included in the mod are:

PMBI07.tga - texture for light robes for white/asian characters
PMBI07black.tga - texture for light robes for black characters
note: remove the "black" part of the file name
once it is extracted into the Override directory
PMBI08.tga - texture for dark robes for white/asian characters
PMBI08black.tga - texture for dark robes for black characters
note: remove the "black" part of the file name
once it is extracted into the Override directory
ia_jedirobe_007.tga - menu icon for the light robes
ia_jedirobe_008.tga - menu icon for the dark robes
g_a_jedirobe_007.uti - parameters for the light robes
g_a_jedirobe_008.uti - parameters for the dark robes
dan13_nemobody.utp - file to add light robes to the game as "treasure"
kor37_sitharc.utp - file to add dark robes to the game as "treasure"

Installation:
-------------
These robes can be installed in a variety of ways depending on how you want
them to affect the game. The different methods are:

1. Replacing current robes
To replace one of the existing robes, extract the PMBI0[7 or 8].tga file for the
robe into the Override directory. This directory is located in the main
installation folder for KOTOR. Once in the Override directory, change the
file name to the appropriate name of the robe to be replaced:

Brown Robe - PMBI01.tga
Black Robe - PMBI02.tga
Red Robe - PMBI03.tga
Blue Robe - PMBI04.tga

This will replace the robe with the new one. Note that adding robes using this
method will not give the new bonuses associated with them.

2. Using the "giveitem" cheat command
This method will add the desired robes to the player character's inventory.
Extract the PMBI0[7 or 8].tga, ia_jedirobe_00[7 or 8].tga, and
g_a_jedirobe_00[7 or 8].uti for the specific robe into the Override directory.
The robes are now ready to be used with cheats.

To enable cheats, in your game directory edit swkotor.ini and under [Game Options]
add EnableCheats=1. Start the game then when playing press ' to bring down the console
prompt, which appears as a ">" in the upper left corner.

At the console prompt, type "giveitem g_a_jedirobe0[7 or 8]" to add the robe to the
inventory. e.g. If you have extracted the light robes, type "giveitem g_a_jedirobe07".

3. Adding the robes to the game as findable items
Perform Method 2 for both sets of robes, and also extract dan13_nemobody.utp and
kor37_sitharc.utp into the Override directory. Now the robes can be found as treasure
in the game in the Ruins on Dantooine and the Pall tomb on Korriban.

Note: With method 3, you must not have already entered these areas for these changes
to take effect.

Known Issues:
-------------
On the Dark robes, on the inside of the left hip flap that hangs down behind the leg,
in certain stances and camera angles, a light spot can be seen. Unfortunetly, this is
due to the way the texture is layed out and mapped onto the body, and is not
correctable. C'est la vie.

If you encounter other issues, please report them to the email address specified above.
I will do what I can to correct them.

Acknowledgements:

A big thanks to Fred Tetra for creating the truly fantastic kotor editing
tool. Also a appreciative shout out to the many friendly folks at the
Lucasforums Holowan Laboratories board who have helped me learn how to do
things like this. This included especially Kitty Kitty, T7nowhere, and
Jackel.

Finally, thanks to Bioware for making a truly kick ass game...
