When the game Knights of the Old Republic was being developed, concept picture of the characters were released. Bastila Shan was one of the characters that was frequently featured and originally Bastila had a unique colored lightsaber instead of the yellow one she was given (check out the screenshots to compare).
Gavroche returns to the modding scene here at FileFront to give us a new mod to play with that gives Bastila back her original concept lightsaber blade color back to that unique green. The author took advantage of what BioWare failed to do by using the Bastila Lightsaber UTI file that was in the game, but never used by default. You would have to cheat to get it or make a mod to put it in, which is what the author did.
This new lightsaber can be found on the corpse of Brejik once you kill him. Once you get it in your inventory, Bastila will equip the lightsaber automatically once you get to the Taris hideout by activating it and flourishing it once her conversation between your PC and Carth is finished when you first get to the hideout. The author did a smart thing that mod modders would overlook by modifying the lightsaber file Bastila uses during your confrontation with Darth Malak on the Leviathan. Good catch! :D
This mod does use the upcrystals.2da file and if you are using one in your personal override folder, it will require you to do some 2da editing. That part can be easy if you download Fred’s KOTOR Tool and make the compatibility changes there. 2da editing is like working with spreadsheets on Excel. This mod also has a compatibility UTI file for Bastila’s lightsaber with my Super Enhanced Mod that I think is really cool. :p Enjoy the mod! :D

Why great ? Because the crystals you put on it are way more efficient on her saber than on a standard one. They work as they do with HotG and MotF. But that's not all. I also gave it an unique colour, based on the one seen on the concept art. Bastila was not an average Jedi, she deserved her own colour, and this one suits her well IMHO. To explain further, I played KotOR after tSL and when I saw the cover of the game, I thought "Wow! That green-yellowish shade just rocks! At last something different from the standard and bothering old colours!", and of course, I got completly pwn'd. OK, the yellow suits her well, but I really missed that shade in-game. Anyway, I just finished a playthrough with Shem's Super Enhanced Mod, and as sabers are much more powerful in it, I made a second version of Bastila's Saber to match his weapons. As for bast_temp_saber.uti, never mind it, it's the saber used in the cutscene on the Leviathan. You will never have it in your Inventory (and that's a good thing, as I was too lazy to set the LocalStrings to Englsih :p). Speaking about languages. I DID translated the two (three with SEM's version) files' LocalStrings into English. But if the items show up in-game with no description, don't panic, I guess it just bugged Force-knows-where-and-when.
