Before I get into what this mod brings you, does anybody remember this restored content mod that was released in June? If you are a big fan of restoration mods and were a big fan of Dan_Loto’s work on the mod I linked, good news is here.
Dan_Loto restores the Gamorrean Stronghold on Taris in the original Knights of the Old Republic game which is located in the Taris Undercity. The author ran into information about this cut content and decided to take on the project to bring back what BioWare cut out. This mod again brings something new to do and will help bring Taris more to life for you, especially those who aren’t a big fans of the situation your player character is in.
This is one of those mods that does not install in the override folder. Make sure you go over the readme file to know how to install it if you don’t already know when looking at the work. The author also has more information about what this restored content does in his readme file. Yes, I didn’t talk as much about it as I could to make you have to read it to make those who have a habit of neglecting to those to read it. :p Enjoy the restored content! :D
Note: Please leave the author feedback, especially if you download this mod and use it. It really helps encourage the author to make more mods in the future.
Installation: Put the files ga.mod and tar_m04aa.mod into your modules folder. NOT YOUR OVERRIDE FOLDER :p The source scripts can just be deleted unless you need them for something. Information: This mod restores the content that was cut from the Undercity on Taris, including the Gamorrean Stronghold. The developers were very theral when they cut the stronghold, leaving no evidence that it ever existed behind aside from a screen shot and an interview saying that it was cut out for pacing purposes. Therefore, I had to recreate content for it. I used the unused sewer door as that is what it likely was intended for. Hopefully it will blend in smoothly to the rest of the game. I reused the module tar_m04aa, as the screen shot shows that the Gamorrean Stronghold was identical to the outcast village. On the Undercity, however, they were not as theral. All are in the game files if you look with KotOR tool. They cut out many NPCs. The first being some outcast children. I don't know why they would do this...other than being worried about child neglect charges. The second being a simple patrol droid. Third, a Black Vulkar by "Bastila's escape pod". I assume the reason for cutting the Black Vulkar out was because they decided to put a Republic survivor by it instead. The survivor says that Bastila wasn't in the pod, but you could say that he's in shock from the battle on the Endar Spire or the Rakghoul attack, or simply being infected by the Rakghouls. The Black Vulkar is on the Other side of the pit as him but behind a large piece of rubble so that they don't see eachother. I added one other Black Vulkar to the Outcast Village. He pays a bounty for every Gamorrean Battleaxe you bring him. One more fun fact is that the names of the Gamorreans mean different things in the Gamorrean language. This is number 22 on the cut content list. You can see the screenshot of the Gamorrean Stronghold here: http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/image/516675.html?gs=179 I can't find the interview where they mention the stronghold. It might be here: http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10077&newsid=21597 but the site is down at the time I wrote this.
