ALL the MoH games were based on WW2. i think both MoH and CoD covered all the battles by now lol. its time to move on.

So far, two votes, and 100% on no. Woot! Anyways, I like MoH's WW2 theme, and I'm not sure if I'd like it going with a different theme would keep it as MoH. (After playing CoD4 on the PS3, I'm in love with it, although sadly it was someone else's, so I gotta get my own. It was good, although it was so different that I wasn't sure at first.) MoH could go that way, and perhaps even be good, but I still like and prefer WW2 games.

Medal of Honor (MOH) is the name of a series of first-person shooter games set in World War II. The first game was developed by DreamWorks Interactive (currently known as EA Los Angeles) and published by Electronic Arts in 1999 for the PlayStation game console. Medal of Honor spawned a series of follow-up games including multiple expansions spanning various console platforms and the PC and Apple Mac. I don't think moh should go into modern warfare. It should stay as WW2

Here's an idea, why not explore the battles of Veitnam?

#5 - Posted by: DoomRaiden (Member) on 01-12-2008 at 10:00
@3 it covered many MANY WW2 battles, i must ask, is there any more to cover?? by playing MoH and CoD, i have gained alot of knowledge of WW2, but for the games sake, i think it must move on. @4 Vietnam could be a better change but Battlefield 2 did better then Battlefield Vietnam. it was good, but not as good as BF2. but in saying dat, yes, Vietnam could be good :)

I think MoH should continue with WW2. There is so much you can discover. Just get your nose in the books and make maps and levels about that. and the first 3 moh versions ( allied assault, Spearhead, Breakthrough ) werent missions like airborne. that was just shoot and get done with it. thats my opinion but they should know better at EA. I voted no ( obviosly )

the first 3 moh versions ( allied assault, Spearhead, Breakthrough ) MOHAA/SH/BT were not the first 3 MOH games.... MOH, MOHU, and MOHFL were(MOHAA might have been released just before MOHFL, i dont remember. but they were put out at the same time.)

WW2 was not the only war or series of battles out der. EA need to explore. if u stick to history, u have to be precise to get it right. with CoD4, it wasnt based on an actual event, they made it up, giving them a more broader imagination. with a broader imagination, loads can be done to a game. u cant make something up in a game, based on real events, u cant rewrite history books. therefore they have to stick wit wat they read in the history books nd try nd make it look cool (which they have done). anyone agree?? p.s. sry its so long lol

i had to look twice at the current results . thought it was still more ''NOs'' towards modernization of mohaa . 36-29 . those who would want a modern conflict based mohaa...actual battles (ie. overdone to death Iraq/Middle East), ficticious battles (ie. invasion of america/europe) or just a theme of fighting in the modern age through the mohaa platform ?

No, Call of Duty got there first. Imagine how much respect Medal of Honor would lose if it went to Modern Combat? Everyone would say that it posed off of Call of Duty. They could try something like the Korean War, or World War I, or maybe even Vietnam.

@#10 I agree, but I think they should do both, Keep with the WW2 theme for all of us WW2 nuts, but also fork off as different wars for those that want something new, I for one am not very interested in Modern combat, I'm sure COD4 is a great game, but I don't intend to get it. Me personally, I would like to see the WW2 MOH stay with its roots, as was MOHAA-SH-BT, Use the new engines for the more Modern era games. The only reason I haven't bought Airborne is simple, I can't afford a computer to run it. I think the need to slow down the development of games a little so us mortal humans can keep up and afford to play them.
Imagine how much respect Medal of Honor would lose...
i know i'm staff here @ a mohaa site but the poster quoted owes me a new monitor being i just shot coffee out of my nose all over my current one .

I personally think EA should have redone Allied Assault with the Unreal 3 engine , Allied Assault had a LOT of potential but EA pretty much just put 60% effort in and sold it as that. As for continuing the series, Yeah I think so a medal of honor based on the other conflicts (Korea, Vietnam, maybe a fiction invasion of Communist Russia (Now I gotta admit, that would be cool)) I would be nice too if MOHAA had the scale of the Halo or Battlefield Series (As far as number and intelligence of A.I. and size of maps) and the createtivity of the Half-life series ( as far as Physics and enviroment) but then MOHAA would become like superMOHAA or sumthing. lol

omg @ 13, r u suggesting MoH go bak on the old games jus to make dem look better??? if dat wer to happen it wud be a mod on dis site, not an actual sale, lol. @11, i agree. if some ppl wud like it to stick wit WW2 era fine, but ders loads of ppl also want it to move on. now dat CoD5 is rumoured to be bak in WW2 era, its gonna suck since it went up nd down. why dont EA make 2 games, one in WW", nd one in Vietnam r somtin. lol jus an idea :)

 #15 - Just a idea... - Posted by: Angrybob (Member) on 01-15-2008 at 20:39
An idea that I've had has been to do this: Maybe follow one unit, (for example the First Infantry Division aka "The Big Red One") through history. Start with the unit's beginnings (I believe they started in World War One) and go through their last active deployment. The base game would include an overall Call of Duty style "Boot Camp" mission (maybe a little bit longer though) and the unit's first war. Following wars would be released separately (and at the same time as the initial release), with new and extra battles for those wars being made available to the owners of the expansion pack. The expansion pack system serves two purposes, first, it allows people to pick and choose their wars, second, it allows the initial install size to be much smaller, and the game could be installed in increments. Anyways, thanks for reading my ideas. Tell me what you think! C'ya -Angrybob

Another thing, a suggestion if they are running out of ideas: Make a moh about the Great Escape, the historic and more accurate one, not the movie one.

sorry PKM. I'm not saying that Medal of Honor sucks or anything like that. I'm simply saying that moving the franchise to modern combat would be a mistake.

Modern battlegrounds? Of course not, real MoH players need the rifle.
sorry PKM....
it's your opinion, no apologies required . your statement did crack me up though . i guess i'll just go get a new monitor . it's the coffee that's irreplaceable; i have it flown in from hawaii .

I don't think I really care too much about what era they choose to go with, as long as you can actually get a medal of honor in the game

#22 - Posted by: salombo (Member) on 01-18-2008 at 13:13
Looking at the work they did with PA and A, they should stop.

#23 - Posted by: MrSeyker (Member) on 01-18-2008 at 14:40
I believe they should restart the series in a next gen engine and continue from there. Update the graphics, yes, but also add all those features that the MoH series is lacking (better ai based on rank system, interactive environment, interactive npc). Keep it WW2. It was an interesting period of time and there are still lots of things that can be exploited for a game (in all fronts, not just the american one). Its not necesary to rewrite history to build a nice fictional story with fictional characters around it (MoH and MoH:U were based on this idea). EA can bring new life to the Medal of Honor series, but its evident they'll just continue to exploit it until it dies alone, forgotten by the gaming comunity, its bright past just a memory for all its true fans to remember. But I will be there, next to it 'till the end. Just to make sure it doesn't die alone.

been neck and neck for the latter part of this week . leader keeps switching every hour, though i have to say i'm really surprised at the position ''modern'' has held . get your votes in by 12am EST (i'll screenshot the results) because tomorrow's (starting 1-19) poll will be based off this week's winner .

I wish they could keep it in World War 2, but there's only so many World War 2 battles that you can recreate.
