Light-up Crosshair/Crosshair Selection Mod Version 4

by Darwin Award Winner
email: rct86 [at@] comcast [d0t] net

THIS MOD NOW WORKS FOR MOHAA, MOHAASH, AND MOHAABT.

Description: This mod adds many extra crosshair sets and the ability to switch between them ingame, via a cycle button or an ingame menu. It also makes it so that the crosshair lights up or changes color or appearance when you shoot.

***WARNING: Before you install***
This script assumes that you use the left mouse button for shooting and the right mouse button for 2ndary fire, and that you don't use the comma or period keys for anything. If this is not the case, then you will have to modify the binds in crosshair.cfg.

***Installation***
Unzip the croshair.zip to your main, mainta, or maintt folder, depending on wether you are using it for MOHAA, Spearhead, or Breakthrough. Start the game, bring down the console, and type "exec crosshair.cfg". The script is now enabled.

***How to use***
Once you get into a game, press the comma button until you get the crosshair you want. These crosshairs are included:

-Regular
-Reversed
-Enemy Territory
-Doom 3
-DOB clan crosshair
-Dot
-Onslaught's crosshair
-XKM clan crosshair
-]RBM[ clan crosshair
-|Marvelous Modders| Super crosshair
-|Marvelous Modders| X crosshair

Look at the image file to see what each crosshair looks like. Each one changes color or appearance to indicate when you are shooting or looking at a teammate.

Once you've found a crosshair you like and you don't feel like cycling to it every time you start up the game, I suggest you bind a key to that crosshair. For example, if you like the dot crosshair, bring down the console and type something like "bind x xhair_dot", where x is the key for that crosshair. You can do this with several crosshairs.

***Uninstallation***
Delete the following files:
zz_crosshair.pk3
crosshair.cfg

Then go into the console and type "unbind ,; unbind ." (that's to unbind the comma and period keys). Last, reset your primary and secondary attack buttons from the controls menu.

***Adding more Crosshair Sets***
I am constantly looking to expand this script with more crosshairs. If you have a croshair that you would like me to add to this mod, please email it to me. You should include three files, named as follows:

crosshair.tga - The crosshair when nothing is happening
crosshair_friend.tga - The crosshair when the player is looking at a teammate
crosshair_firing.tga - The crosshair when the player is shooting

Well, you don't really have to send all three files. I could make the other two. But it would be nice, and you'd get them in the script exactly how you want them.

You could also include a fourth file, a crosshair for shooting at a teammate (like a big red X or something).

***Credits***
I'd like to thank the following people for the following crosshairs:
(If you are on this list and you want your crosshair removed, email me and I'll take it out and ask MOHFiles.com to take the mod off.)
