Light-Up Crosshair

Light-up Crosshair Mod and RTCW:ET and D3 crosshair packs Version 2

Description: This mod adds three extra crosshair sets and the ability to switch between them ingame. It also makes it so that the crosshair indicates when you are shooting by changing color or appearance.

***WARNING: Before you install***
This script assumes that you use the left mouse button for shooting and the right mouse button for 2ndary fire, and that you don't use the comma key for anything. If this is not the case, then you will have to modify the binds in crosshair.cfg.

***Installation***
Unzip the croshair.zip to your main, mainta, or maintt folder, depending on wether you are using it for MOHAA, Spearhead, or Breakthrough. Start the game, bring down the console, and type "exec crosshair.cfg". The script is now enabled.

***How to use***
Once you get into a game, press the comma button until you get the crosshair you want. These four are included:

-Regular: Standard crosshair, white normally, green on teammates, and turns red when firing
-Reversed: Switches white and green
-Enemy Territory: My favorite crosshair from RTCW:ET. Turns green on teammates, red part expands when firing.
-Doom 3: Doom 3 crosshair. Turns green on teammates, turns red and yellow when firing (like when you hit something in D3).

As you can see, the crosshairs all change their appearance while you hold down the fire button, and this is really the main feature of the mod.

I find that the Doom 3 crosshair is best for close combat, and the ET one is suitable for rifling and precision long-distance shooting (since the middle is clear). But try them out yourself. The fixed Doom 3 crosshair is now better for long-range shooting.

***Uninstallation***
Delete the following files:
zz_crosshair.pk3
crosshair.cfg

Then go into the console and type "unbind ," (that's to unbind the comma key). Last, reset your primary and secondary attack buttons from the controls menu.

***Adding more Crosshair Sets***
If you have a croshair set that you would like me to add to this mod, please email it to me. You should include three files, named as follows:

crosshair.tga  - The crosshair when nothing is happening
crosshair_friend.tga  - The crosshair when looking at a teammate
crosshair_firing.tga  - The crosshair when the player is shooting

You could also include a fourth file, a crosshair for shooting at a teammate (like a big red X or something).
