Due to the incompatibility of the NHL 2000 demo's installer with 64-bit systems, I've repackaged it with the appropriate 32-bit version of InstallShield 3.
To install, extract the contents of the ZIP file to a folder, then run setup\english\setup32.exe.

The NHL 2000 demo supports all 3D accelerators from 3Dfx, as well as most 3D accelerators that supports Direct3D. You do not need a 3D accelerator card to run the NHL 2000 demo -- if you do not have a 3D accelerator, or your 3D card is not supported, the demo will run using the software renderer. 3D Setup is automatically run in the background when you first install the NHL 2000 demo. It will choose the best 3D accelerator on your system to run with. If you want to change the 3D accelerator used with the demo, or if you install a new 3D accelerator, run 3DSetup located in the Start Menu under EA SPORTS --> NHL 2000 DEMO. *Cards based on the 3Dfx Voodoo Graphics & Rush chipsets* The NHL 2000 demo requires the Glide run-time drivers when using the Voodoo Graphics & Rush chipsets. If you do not have the Glide run-time drivers installed, you may contact your board manufacturer to obtain the latest drivers for your board. *Cards based on the 3Dfx Voodoo II & Voodoo Banshee chipsets* We recommend that you upgrade your Glide drivers to version 3.02 or higher. These drivers can be obtained from your manufacturers website. If you do not upgrade your drivers, the NHL 2000 demo will still run, but you may experience graphical or performance issues. If you do upgrade your drivers, please run 3DSetup again, once you have finished upgrading. *Cards based on the NVidia Riva 128 chipset* Ensure you are using the latest revision of the drivers for the Nvidia Riva 128 3D chipset. The NHL 2000 demo may not appear correctly if you are using older drivers. For best look and performance, the following should be set via the Nvidia RIVA 128 video card control panel: Per pixel mipmapping: Disabled; Automatically generate 8 mipmap levels; Direct3D Texture Memory Size: 5-10 MB (or 0 on computers with 16 MB RAM to avoid swapping). If you are having trouble with unreadable or scrambled fonts, try changing the Addressing Mode switches to: Non-Filtered Texel Origin: Upper left corner Filtered Texel Origin: x=0.00 texels, y=0.00 texels. *ATI Rage Pro Cards* Ensure you are using the latest revision of the drivers for the ATI Rage Pro card. The NHL 2000 demo may not appear correctly if you are using older drivers. ----------------------------------------------------------------- If you have any questions or comments you may get in contact with an Electronic Arts Product Support Technician in any of the following ways: Note: Email will be answered by email, fax by fax, mail by mail.
