A welcome addition to everyone who has ECP, Cameron McDonald's DSAI Extension expands on the stuff the troops shout out when they are under attack and gives them more stuff to say when they are relaxin back at base. This adds even more atmosphere and immersion to OFP, giving you one of the best Flashpoint experience's you will have. Furthermore the DSAI Extension squashes a few nasty bugs from the vanilla DSAI that came with the original ECP.
-- VIEW WITH WORDWRAP ON -- Lt. Cameron McDonald (CameronMcDonald) proudly (again) presents an addon for OFP! DSAI Extension (US) v1.1 for ECP v1.085e. CHANGELOG v1.1 1.1 - Squashed, stomped and Mortein-ed "grenade!" bug (thanks to Komuna). - Added 421 more US sounds (all from Quake IV - kudos to ID and Activision). - Corrected array order - should prevent Russo-American shouting! - Removed US_detect051 (turns out that sound didn't exist - silly me :S) - Added 250 Russian (Alfa: Antiterror) sounds - thanks to Shadow_NX of RHS. 1.0 - Initial release. NOTE: You WILL need ECP v1.085e for this addon to work - otherwise it'll just be a bundle'o'sounds. - THIS IS *NOT* AN ECP OFFICIAL ADDON. THE ECP TEAM WILL NOT PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR IT! BIS AND CODEMASTERS (BOO!) NEED TO BE REMOVED FROM THE BLAME LINE IF THIS ADDON DOES SOMETHING YOU PREFER NEVER TO HAPPEN AGAIN. SO DO I - I WILL HOLD NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ADDON IF IT DOES SOMETHING UNCONSTRUCTIVE. Q: Ok, I promise not to kill you. What does it do? A: One of my personal favourite additions to the latest ECP is DSAI (Dynamic Speaking AI), which makes the AI chat, joke, scream, yell, and generally act more human-like in the game. This addon basically adds ~1000 new sounds borrowed (heh) from other games in circulation to the ones originally included by the ECP team, giving them a wider range of expressions, if you will. Sounds from the following games are included: Alfa: Antiterror Aliens vs. Predator II Doom 3 Medal of Honour: Allied Assault Operation Flashpoint Red Faction Red Faction II The Thing Q: Aren't the sounds from those games a tad ludicrous for a war simulation? A: However freakish about realism you are, I'm freakier. Believe me - just ask to see my edited addons. To this end, I've not included a single sound IMO that would be out of place in a real life conflict. And trust me, I've been exceptionally hard on Red Faction I/II - some of those sounds are absolutely ridiculous. ;P Q: Thank god you're not as stupid as you sound. How do I install it? A: Installation is comparatively simple, even for unOFPducated people. 1. Simply place the CAM_DSAI_Extension PBO file into the Addons folder in the @ECP directory. 2. Then (the hard part), in the @ECP directory, open the ECP_Settings.sqf file with notepad, scroll right down to the bottom, and copy and paste the following text into the BOTTOM of the file, making sure you don't mess up any of the other text (copy from the //Start below to the //Finish down further): 3. Don't copy anymore into there! Now, simply boot up your ECP and enjoy all new phrases and expressions from your soldiers. Q: Any other versions planned? I hope not! A: That's it for now, ladies and gentlemen... well, until someone chooses to download my 1.8GB required addon list for my ECP2010 campaign... Though I might put all of the files into .wss format if someone can convince me why. CREDITS: Komuna (for putting up with my stupid questions, and helping me with the paths, as well as thoroughly squashing the grenade bug) and the ECP Team. Shadow_NX for volunteering a place to find some Red sounds. All those game makers I've borrowed sounds from. Those who thanked me on my DSAI thread - you really make it worthwhile.
