Regular version - 18.9MB / 40MB unpacked - BIS Nogova textures - recomended for slower PCs:

Town Layouts modified: - Khandahar - major remake of buildings placement, overall polycount in th area should be decrased now -> less lag... hopefully... - Annar Dareh - mosque 2 and several other buildings added, placement changed and optimized in SW part of the town. The town looks more like people actually lived in there... - Charikar - mosque 2 and a couple of market stalls added - Herat - fixed the cliff with ladder and added another one, fixed height of a few houses - Baghlan - some buildings shifted to W, due to the new road, fuel station added - Mazar-e-Sharif - a few buildings replaced next to government building

Remade the road from Airport, thru Annar Dareh, Baghlan all the way to Khandahar. It's an asphalt road now. Some rocks and trees had to be moved around a little bit... due to the new road. Some market stalls added in the cities - but only a few to keep the lag down. More are available from Mission Editor if needed. 2 new large buildings and 1 new mosque. All trees replaced with desert RES trees from fighter. All pools removed. No rivers, no forests - and don't ask for'em. :P Unfinished bridge in the NW - removed. Various support points added - you can heal at hospitals and repair vehicles in garages. Some flickering rocks moved around from the slopes. Proper LON/LAT values set - admire the stars over Afghanistan the way they appear in RL. Additional optimizations and fixes to models. Many other tweaks and improvements....

Map edges... stay clear of them...

version 1.0 (3-03-2005)

In the beggining I was just going to fix some original CAT's objects for use on the island prepared by MIA Mod. Then, I started tweaking island a bit. Eventually, I decided to do a major island rework. In 3 days, using WRPTool, I managed to achieve the effect, that'd take months with the old WRPEdit. Please keep in mind that this was only a side effect of another project, so don't be too picky and enjoy what you get! ;-)

The following changes were introduced:
- Major config cleanup and tweaking.
- Quite a few missing faces and missing textures on object models were fixed. 
- A number of additional resolution LODs was added to selected objects in order to improve performance.
- No object files were removed, so this version is backwards compatibile with previous versions. This means that any 3rd party islands using these objects should work without problems.
- Everything that was on the map in version v3 is still there, exactly where it was (for mission compatibility reasons).
- Terrain relief remains (almost) the same (for mission compatibility reasons).
- No additional addons were used (due to compatibility reasons!).
- All ground textures reverted to BIS resistance ones.
- All the buildings are now available in Mission Editor.

III. New features
When working on the map, I tried to think about different possible mission scenarios. As a result, the updated version gives you plenty of possibilites to ambush your enemy on mountain passes, raid opium plantations and military base, conduct large-scale urban operations, set up and destroy terrorist training bases, use planes for air support and many, many more.

- 1 new big city, 5 new villages and a number of smaller settlements scattered all over the island.
- All cities have Afghan names now.
- New post-Soviet airbase with functional ILS (landing autopilot).
- New post-Soviet style military base.
- Several opium plantations added.
- Simple road network connecting settlements and the airbase.
- Thousands of rocks, bushes and shrubbery added all over the island.
- Many different ambient sounds available via triggers

IV. Known bugs

- there're probably some... in fact it'd take a whole team of people to get rid of the bugs. Did my best...
- probably some rocks floating in the air... dunno where, though...
- ....

V. Instalation

CATIntro.pbo goes into your addons folder (you can put it into any modfolder too). anims folder has to go into "OperationFlashpoint\addons", otherwise it won't work!!!
OFP version 1.91 or higher is required to play. The latest version is recommended.
