CameronMcDonald has released an updated version 1.01 of his impressive Operation FacePlant US Infantry units (based on Laser's units).
10 detailed models with accurate texturing and equipment. Blood textures. Animated NVGs. Animated goggles on rifleman models. Use of Llauma's FaceTex2 for that FacePlant touch. A load of scripts designed to give maximum realism and functionality with NVGs for AI and players, including: 1. Daytime check-and-apply scripts for AI units. 2. In-vehicle removal and non-vehicle readdition for players (to prevent view blocking in first person view when in vehicles) 3. Re-run prevention to minimise computer usage.
You NEED the follow addons for this one to work!!!
Phew that was a lot.
*** OPERATION FACEPLANT MODERN US INFANTRY v1.01 TEASER *** Updates: - Fixed missing pistol proxies on crew and rifleman models. You will need: SJB's Weapon Pack v1.1 LSR's Weapon Pack v1.1 OFP:R v1.96 Contains: US Infantry and APC crew aiming to replicate those of the 1st Infantry Division. Designed to give members a taste of what the FacePlant team is capable of, this is a TEASER release, meaning the next update will be released with the official mod (if ever). No patches will be given before then, unless catastrophic bugs are reported. And as for you guys who whinge about the number of ACU addons springing up, let's count them together: 1. NUT (The KMan 3000)'s ACU 2. DLEM's ACU 3. FFUR's ACU 4. Sgt. Eversmann's ACU 5. Operation FacePlant (CameronMcDonald)'s ACU Five - that's one hand's worth. Not enough, IMHO. Features: - 10 detailed models with accurate texturing and equipment. - Blood textures. - Animated NVGs. - Animated goggles on rifleman models. - Use of Llauma's FaceTex2 for that FacePlant touch. - A load of scripts designed to give maximum realism and functionality with NVGs for AI and players, including: 1. Daytime check-and-apply scripts for AI units. 2. In-vehicle removal and non-vehicle readdition for players (to prevent view blocking in first person view when in vehicles) 3. Re-run prevention to minimise computer usage. USAGE TIPS + TRICKS: - To lower the goggles on the riflemen (units with uncovered goggles): => this animate ["goggles",1] - To maximise the functionality of your own NVGs, DON'T go fiddling around with the AI's NVGs. There is an engine limitation which means you can often FUBAR your own NVG scripts by activating those of the nearby AI. If this does occur, simply cycle through the action menu until you get back to the state you were in (for example, if your NVGs were on and you accidentally raised an AI's NVGs, thus disabling your own, simply walk away from the AI and reset your NVGs by pushing "N" and lowering them again via the action menu). To reiterate: DON'T fiddle with the AI's NVGs, even if you're squad leader. They will put them on/take them off themselves at around 7pm and 5am respectively, so let them be, and enjoy the eye candy they provide. KNOWN BUGS: - These are not lightweight units. They are designed for serious nutcases like myself with serious computers. I'm running about 6 squads worth on Retextured Malden as I write this, and it runs sweetly. I apologise to those with weaker computers, but I'm really not willing to sacrifice niceness for speed, especially since FacePlant is not really lower-computer friendly. - There can (extremely rarely) be some issues with the NVGs when disembarking from a vehicle. Simply reset your NVGs using N and the action menu, and off you go. - There can be some problems with alpha channels in the kneepads, but this has only occurred once, and that was after a defective binarize. - Some minor clipping issues with the ACU shirt, however, this is a model problem inherent in Laser's model, so it's not likely to be fixed, since I like the model the way it is. CREDITS (no particular order): - Laser - DLEM - Nephilim - Sgt. Eversmann - Bambi - The KMan 3000 - Jackal326 - Registered_Fugitive - Combat! - SafetyCatch - HYK - Shadow_NX <= bet you don't know what you're there for! (Please note that I have NOT been able to get in touch with Laser, The KMan 3000, Combat! or Registered_Fugitive, probably due to a wayward message from me. However, I encourage them to approach me if they are not satisfied with the way their model(s) are used in this addon, and I thank them once again for making them.)
