The PUBG Corp released a Developer Update earlier today wherein they have promised the new map, Sanhock (previously Codename: Savage) "before the end of June".

The biggest content drop coming in the near future is Sanhok. We’re aiming to bring it to live servers before the end of June, and development on the map won’t stop there. We’re planning new exclusive vehicles and an exclusive weapon for Sanhok, each of which will drop sometime in the month after the map officially launches. Among these is a big fan request: a drivable three-wheeled vehicle we’re currently calling the Tukshai. PUBG Corp

Sanhock has been in development for only a few months now, but in the sneak screenshots they've posted, it's looking extremely polished. Sanhock will also have a unique vehicle and weapon drops, though it's been said that they will not launch with the map.

In the Developer Update, PUBG Corp has also listed it's top priorities in Performance, Optimizations and Server Side Fixes. They have said they wish to eliminate the frame drops entirely and make the game a more enjoyable experience for everyone, no matter the power of your PC.

We look at feedback from players around the world when determining our priorities. We’ve heard your voices, and as a result we believe that the biggest issues which deserve our attention are performance, server-side optimization, and cheating.

Performance and Server-Side Optimization - Over the past few patches, we’ve seen a big increase in complaints about performance problems, including unpredictable FPS drops, visual stuttering, and overall sluggish performance. Some of the root problems are occurring client-side, and others are server-side.PUBG Corp

This should be welcome news to players who have been complaining about PUBG Corps attention to loot boxes and new micro transactions within the game (such as the new parachute skin).

The team say they have already identified several key areas which can be drastically improved, and they are:

  • Character optimization
  • Vehicle optimization
  • Loading optimization/stabilization
  • Optimize network code
  • Increase the speed at which the server transfers data
  • Other optimization work
