File Description

This is an interesting mod by Preatorian which modifies the games skins to "Brighten" them up a bit it makes all the skins that the game uses a bright green colour quite interesting if you ask me it would help in the dark sections where the strogg are hard to see. I would suggest you give it a try it may shape up into a good mod when it has finished it's beta stage. Do note that the server needs to run this as well.

Mercury lite contains simple brightskins for Quake 4. The skins are based on the original skins Quake uses and they work for all models. All skins are coloured green, and colour selection will be available in a later version. The brightskins are only available on servers that support it! Trust me, I've tried.

       - What is it?

Mercury lite contains simple brightskins for Quake 4.
The skins are based on the original skins Quake uses
and they work for all models.
All skins are coloured green, and colour selection will be
available in a later version.
The brightskins are only available on servers that support it! Trust me, I've tried.

       - Installation

There are two ways to use Mercury brightskins. The
easiest way is to use it as a Mod, another way
is to set it as a basic skinpack on the server.

As a Mod

Unzip the file and put the directory Mercury in
your Quake 4 folder (eg. C:/program files/id
software/Quake 4)
You can run the mod either by starting up Quake 4
and hitting "mods" in the main menu, and select
"mercury". Or you can make a shortcut to launch
mercury directly.
To do this you must make a shortcut to Quake4.exe
(rightclick on Quake4.exe, drag it to your desktop
and select "make shortcut"). Right-click on this
and select "Properties". In the text-field
"target" add: +set fs_game "mercury".
As an example it could be :
Target: "C:\Program Files\id Software\Quake
4\quake4.exe" +set fs_game "mercury"

As a server skinpack

Unzip the file and put the contents of the mercury
folder into Quake4/baseq4/base.

       - Questions, suggestions or complaints?

For basic questions about installation or use of Mercury
lite you can go to www.q4euro.com or #quake4.euro on

quakenet, they're usually nice enough to help you out.
If they can't help you or you have anything else, you
can always contact me on irc (#fnatic.team on quakenet,
nickname: fnatic\art) or through email

( preatorian.lev@gmail.com).
