Even more evidence has been uncovered regarding a potential PC port for Red Dead Redemption 2, as references to a PC release of the game have been found within the source code of the latest version of Rockstar's Social Club website.
The discovery was made by JakoMako51 on Twitter, who was delving into the code to see what he could find, and discovered a specific line of code that read "RDR2_PC_Accomplishments". The hopeful among us would hope that this would indeed be a reference to a possible PC version. It sits next to an entry that says "RDR2_PS4_Trophies" in the source code, so the naming schema would strongly point towards PC meaning Personal Computer in this instance, but it does not entirely exclude the possibility that it may mean something else, such as "Player Character".
It's easy to see this for yourself, at least for now, by heading over to the Social Club website and checking out the source code in your browser.
So I'm pretty excited, as the fact it's appearing here hopefully means that a PC release may not be too far away after all. I'm still of the opinion that the most likely release for PC may come along a next-gen re-release for Project Scarlett and PS5 around Holiday 2020, much as it was with GTA V, but you never know....
One this is for sure, though, the evidence is mounting.
