File Description

"Axis: The Allies have somehow learned the location of our secret canyon base. They are attempting to infiltrate the compound through the lower tunnels in an effort to disable a new experimental weapon being held in the storage area. Protect the Experimental Weapon at all costs! Set ambushes in the tunnels, hold the bridge area and make sure you've got some Engineers on defence near the Cave Gate objective. Don't charge too far away from the base or a sneaky Allied Engineer will ruin your hopes of a promotion from guard duty;)

Allied: Intelligence sources have given us the location of a new Experimental Weapon that the Axis are holding for transport at a remote canyon base. Your team will be air dropped near the entrance to a large underground cavern, from which you should be able to access the canyon base through smaller caves. Stick together, use scouts, and watch the friendly fire. Holding the bridge area is key to stopping counter offensive attacks. Protect the Allied Engineers. Good luck soldier!"

Map Name: CanyonTactics (BETA)v.1.0.

Author: Terramis Shivar aka: Krishana Cascade aka: Buhdal Terrakar Age:24 Loc: The back hills of Oregon
Games currently being played: RTCW, Red Faction(destructable terrain mmmm=), Dark Age of Camelot, and Dungeon Siege

Thanks: First and formost thanks go to the guys at the RTCW.co.uk mapping forums
for freely supplying numerous tips, tricks, and general mapping info. Without which I'd have
probably never completed this map. Thanks also go to the guys who built the radio tower
in mp_beach which I prefabed into this map since it just looked cool and seemed
way out of my league building it. Thanks go to Gerbil for his great RTCW mapping site
'TheBurrow'. Also, many thanks go to SurrenderDorothy! for really helping with the lighting, caulking and lots
of other great ideas. Last but not least, thanks go to the folks at PC Gamer for running a great
magazine and testing all the games we'd never want to play=) On with the show...

Notes: This is my first map and hence is not built with the precision I'm sure many mappers are used to.
It's all straight line work, no terrain, all brushes and lights, and let me tell you, making those rocks
look like rocks is no easy task. Since I dont know all the bells and whistles that come in the SDK,
I had to build the map completely around the hardcore gameplay. Though designed for Stopwatch mode I think it'll
make for a fun MP game too. I tried to keep the options open while keeping the action and need for teamwork intense.
Keep in mind this is a Beta edition and is in no way a 'finished' work.
Many of the textures need to be redone. Destructable props, doors, and windows are
all non-existant thus far and will (hopefully) be added in a later edition. Suggestions and comments are
very welcome and remember, 'Majority rules' so tell me what you think. All the work is mine except for the
Axis radio tower(mentioned earlier), anyone is free to take the map apart, fix it, tweak it, add on to it, etc.
Use parts in your own map if you like. I made it for ya'll so enjoy!

Send your Beta report to Terramis@hotmail.com along with any comments or ideas you might have. See you online!
