Far from being a workmanlike but bloodsoaked homage to Rambo-esque lunacy, Soldier of Fortune actually turns out to be an inventive and remarkably intelligent test of your first-person combat skills. You play the role of John Mullins, a mercenary "consultant" working for a shadowy organisation called The Shop, taking on jobs that the US government can't be seen dirtying its hands with.
