Russian gaming site Gameru.net was on site at the Game Territory 2006 convention held in Kiev, Ukraine. A decent amount of questions were given to GSC's Anton Bolshakov concerning elements of gameplay within S.T.A.L.K.E.R., recommended hardware, and other goodies. It's a rather fine interview, and we recommend checking it out. Courtesy of Oblivion-Lost.de, the interview is translated to English for those of us who can't read Russian. :)
Before Half Life came out you said that you were afraid of it's graphics, after it came out you said that you are not afraid any longer. In that year - year and a half, did you add a new renderer or something else? Anton Bolshakov: We have not sat still, and two programmers together with a rendering programmer have been implementing new DX9 features. In that time we got HDR effects, dynamic lighting, fully dynamic lighting in the DX9 renderer. The PR campaign will soon begin, there will be a trailer, and you will see how the DX9 renderer looks. It looks much better than in the beginning of the year.
In addition to this, it also appears that Stalker-portal.ru was present at the convention as well, and nabbed a nice recording of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.'s introduction movie.
