Faction Weapons Mod by Versoth

This mod adds unique Faction versions of the Groza, Abakan (Obokon), G36 and LR300. It also adds 2 unique Faction exoskeletons. -Duty Groza: Duty Trader -Duty Abakan: Duty Trader, Barkeep -Freedom G36: Freedom Trader -Freedom LR300: Freedom Trader, Barkeep -Duty Exoskeleton: Duty Trader -Freedom Exoskeleton: Freedom Trader

As the descriptions will note, the new weapons have better accuracy, muzzle velocity, stopping power, etc. These weapons should not be unbalanced, they are not "uber weapons". I attempted to keep the weapons stats reasonable, however STALKER uses obscure methods of gauging how powerful weapons are, so they might *look* unbalanced on the bar graphs. The stats, however, show generally a 10-20% increase in the changed attributes, and the new Groza can use a scope and silencer. They are intended to be simply modified, enhanced versions of existing weapons. The new exoskeletons have improved resistances, the Duty suit is very effective (80-85%) against weapons fire and other direct damage, while the Freedom suit is effective against environmental hazards (burn, shock, chemical burn, telepathy, anomolous damage basically) The new equipment is EXPENSIVE. The exoskeletons are 70,000 RU, the tier 1 weapons (LR300 and Abakan) are 10,000 apiece if I remember rightly, while the tier 2 weapons (Groza, G36) are 25,000-35,000 RU. (Costs might not be accurate, it depends on how the Traders feel about letting Marked One get his paws on their equipment, the prices may, therefore, vary ;) )

If the response to this mod is positive, I just might get around to making more faction weapons and armor, maybe even faction ammo or artifacts.... would be interesting to have Duty faction armor, weapons, ammo, artifacts. If anybody is interested in doing retexturing work, putting the faction logos on the equipment would be a nice touch.

Feel free to use this in your own mod, just give me credit for what you include.

INSTALLATION: Same as pretty much *every* other STALKER mod in existence, unzip, copy the gamedata folder into your STALKER root folder (the one with the "bin" folder in it). If this is your first mod (and you've made a good choice if it is ;) ) then you need to open fsgame.ltx with notepad (or another word processor) and change the line: "$game_data$ = true| false| $fs_root$| gamedata" to "$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata" This will enable the gamedata folder, and thus your mods.

If this mod does NOT work, check your version. This mod is made with 1.0 files, and works on ver 1.0. This mod only modifies the barman, duty trader and freedom trader files, the unique_items file and the two encyclopedia files for the names and descriptions of weapons and outfits. 6 files in all, so this mod should be compatible with most other mods. Mods that add armor, weapons, etc. should be manually merged with this one, as the files will probably overlap. Major mods, such as the ABC mod (and however many versions there are of it), Basix, and the like will probably need to be merged manually, but should (key word: SHOULD) work together.
