File Description

These are custom scope I have created to give a different view when looking through the scope. No blacked out area around the reticle. Instead you see the slightly blurred outline of whichever weapon or scope you have equiped at the time. So far I have created new scope textures for: Fn2000, PSOP, G36 lower scope, G36 upper red dot scope and a new SUSAT scope. Though these are all real reticles only the PSOP is true to that scope. For the others I just grabbed reticles that I liked.

All scope textures custom built by me except the bino which straight from the AMK mod. I just cleaned some hard edge lines in it and I also used one of their other reticles for the G36 lower scope. Credit to Briarius whose PSOP widescreen scope mod was the direct inspiration for this one.

Gnomus's Widescreen Scopes Mod v1.0

Should work under all patches.

Anyone may use this mod but please give me credit.

Credit to Briarius who came up with the original PSOP widescreen mod which was the inspiration for this one.

Also to the AMK team. I used a reticle of theirs as well.

Just drop the gamedata folder into your STALKER root directory.

If you have never used a mod in STALKER before you will need to edit your fsgame.ltx located in the STALKER root directory.

Edit line 2 to read

$game_data$=true|true|$fs_root$|gamedata

Tested under Priboi, AMK without any issues.
Only two wpn ltx's are changed in any way so there shouldn't be any issues with other mods.

If you are worried about compatability you can change these lines manually.

In w_fn2000.ltx change the scope texture line to read

scope_texture		= wpnwpn_crosshair_fn2000

If you wish to use the upper red dot scope on the G36 you will need to change the TSRD w_g36.ltx file to read w_g36.ltx and let it overwrite the existing w_g36.ltx. Otherwise the game will default to the lower zoomed scope with crosshairs.

If somebody can come up with a way of switching them in game that would be great.

If you wish to edit the ltx manualy you just need to edit the scope texture line to read

scope_texture		= wpnwpn_crosshair_g36_TSRD

If requested I will make a regular screen version of this mod.

There are still some things I'd like to tweek and also to create the rpg scope. But this version works well for now.

Enjoy!
