thingumeefish - MECHANIC UPGRADES MOD =====================================

Gives all mechanics access to all upgrade types... Well, most of them! I am sure to have missed a few but, now that you know how to, you can add any that I missed as you find them.

Tested with CS patch but I wouldn't be suprised if it worked for earlier versions? Let me know.

Should NOT need to start a new game; that is, it works fine with my saved games.

1. Replace the the file: gamedataconfigsmiscstalkers_upgarde_info.ltx in your ClearSky folder. On my Vista machine I use the following path:

 C:UsersDixonAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram FilesDeep SilverS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Skygamedataconfigsmisc

Obviously, with XP it will be more like:

 C:Program FilesDeep SilverS.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Skygamedataconfigsmisc

NOTE WELL: It really is spelled like that, i.e. stalkers_upgarde_info.ltx !!!

2. Make sure mods are enabled in fsgame.ltx: see other stalker mods for details.

Of course, this mod will break some of the "Find Upgrade" side-task story lines since any given mechanic will already have all the upgrade data he needs. Ah well, you can always replace those conditional definitions, for example...

;// ORIGINAL [mar_csky_tech_upgr]
up_sect_ac_mp5 = {+info_up_ac_mp5}
up_sect_bd_mp5 = {+info_up_bd_mp5}
up_sect_a_novice_outfit = {+info_up_a_novice_outfit}
up_sect_a_bandit_outfit = {+info_up_a_novice_outfit}
up_sect_a_cs_light_outfit = {+info_up_a_novice_outfit}
up_sect_a_cs_heavy_outfit = {+info_up_a_novice_outfit}
up_sect_a_stalker_outfit = {+info_up_a_novice_outfit}

If you do though, you will want to remove the associated lines from my definition block for the same mechanic character, i.e.

;// END: ORIGINAL [mar_csky_tech_upgr]
  ...  other stuff ...

;up_sect_ac_mp5 = true
;up_sect_bd_mp5 = true
;up_sect_a_novice_outfit = true
;up_sect_a_bandit_outfit = true
;up_sect_a_cs_light_outfit = true
;up_sect_a_cs_heavy_outfit = true
;up_sect_a_stalker_outfit = true

Very little!!

1. It doesn't crash my installation, can't speak for any other builds/patches.

2. As stated above, I fully expect that there are [probably] additional mechanic characters, and [almost certainly] additional item upgrade types.
Feel free to add them and pass this along but... please credit me
      ... It's the right thing to do.
