File Description

This mod changes many aspects of the game. It attempts in improve the AI, and gives you more of a "fighting to live" feel in the game.

-Doubled prices of mutant parts and changed weights to suit the limb sizes a bit better. -Reduced the weight of artefacts to 0.2kg instead of 0.5, and increased pricing by 50% -Quest timers are, shall we say, irrelevant now, unless your gonna waste a years gaming time. -All ammo prices have been doubled -Weapons add-ons have been tripled (still cheap :P) -Weapon prices have been doubled, better get savin for those snipers now :P -Food Weights lowered -Medical Supplies are now 4x more expensive. Goes to figure that comodities that save your life should be thanks approprietly. Im tryin to modify corpse drop rates so supplies from stalkers etc. arent so abundant.(watch this space) -Bandages dont heal hitpoints, they aint lined with anaesthetics are they? :P -Medkits dont prevent bleeding, a little odd perhaps, but why bother with bandages at all otherwise. -Armour Prices doubled, but weights halved (some suits have tiny tweaks to bullet damage, nothing overpowering)

-----INTORODUCTION-----
I've been through all the stalker files on offer, and have been disappointed by the number of mods that give something great to the game, like improved a.i and weapons repairs, only to also include things like traders owning EVERY gun in the game. For me things like this took away the concept of fighting to live, and made it living to fight. Not Stalkery at all :P
Included in this file are 2 gamedata folders. One contains the entire original Stalker data. These files change NOTHING about the original game. However, once you install them, you too can tweak stalker however much you like. The other gamedata folder are mostly the same files, but i've changed some values to make gameplay that bit more challenging. At least i hope. There are a few other mods included in my version. Credits applied where needed.

So the rundown on my files;

-Doubled prices of mutant parts and changed weights to suit the limb sizes a bit better.
-Reduced the weight of artefacts to 0.2kg instead of 0.5, and increased pricing by 50%
-Quest timers are, shall we say, irrelevant now, unless your gonna waste a years gaming time.
-All ammo prices have been doubled
-Weapons add-ons have been tripled (still cheap :P)
-Weapon prices have been doubled, better get savin for those snipers now :P
-Food Weights lowered
-Medical Supplies are now 4x more expensive. Goes to figure that comodities that save your life should be thanks approprietly. Im tryin to modify corpse drop rates so supplies from stalkers etc. arent so abundant.(watch this space)
-Bandages dont heal hitpoints, they aint lined with anaesthetics are they? :P
-Medkits dont prevent bleeding, a little odd perhaps, but why bother with bandages at all otherwise.
-Armour Prices doubled, but weights halved (some suits have tiny tweaks to bullet damage, nothing overpowering)

The following mods are here too;

-'rules_of_engagement' By KoGar (reduces the threat range that enemies detect you by, so no pistol sniping from 150m)
-Improved sound effects v.9 by dDefinder (only the weapons sounds of said mod here im afraid, didnt like the rest)
-Hud_and_blood_v1.3 by Psuedoant (little for red spray, smaller crosshairs and slicker HUD)
-Show_reward_v1.02 by Onionradish (lets you see what you get form missions before hand)
-'Real gun names v.3' by Kyodan (does what it says on the tin)

If i've credited the wrong ppl, my apologies, let me know.

-----INSTALLATION-------

OK, now if you want my version of the game, simply drag the folder 'gamedata' into your stalker directory. Then simply save the other gamedata (originals) folder somewhere safe (BUT NOT THE DIRECTORY) Vice versa for the original files.If you dont like my file, simple copy the originals folder (WITHOUT the brackets and words inside em) into the same folder and overwrite. You'll be back to having all files and the original set-up. Be aware-if you have other mods when installing the original files, chances are they wont be there when you start up. you've been warned >:)

Directory: C:/Program Files/THQ/S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl

WANRING: A New Game File might have to be started. If not, then yay!

-----THINGS TO COME------ (he hopes)

i am by no means a prof modder, so feel free to point out where i can do the following. I'm looking into changing the loot parameters so that meds are harder (not impossible) to come by, makin them a valuable asset, instead of weight wasting stacks of 20s. Also, when i understand trader.ltx files better, ill modify them to sell a few more usefull, lower grade ammo's. and make the same ammo drops rarer. The idea will be that artifacts and mutant parts (which have been doubled) will fund your purchases of ammo and weapons, rather than looting thousands of bullets and a bunch of guns and running back and forth to sell to the trader. Traders in my opinion should be there to stock YOU up, not the otherway round.
