'Ultra Real Lighting with no FPS hit' v1.0. By NMC ______________________________________________________________ Description: When I first played S.T.A.L.K.E.R , I found the visuals although generally stunning, a bit unclear, dark, and lacking in what I considered true lighting realism. I assumed this was related to user.ltx settings (not the game itself)and so I adjusted them to what I thought best showed S.T.A.L.K.E.R as the most visually stunning game on PC. This mod is a user.lxt file that adusts visual settings to enhance lighting and make the game appear clearer, crisper, and in my humble opinion, 'Ultra Real' without affecting frame-rates, which I'm sure you would all like to hang on to! ______________________________________________________________ Notes: I use an ATI x1950 (AGP) graphics card and the wonderful 'Float 32 mod'. ______________________________________________________________ Installation 1.) Make a copy of your original 'user.ltx' file found in your 'STALKER_SHOC' folder ( the full path is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\STALKER-SHOC ) 2.) Extract the mod from the RAR folder and place the new 'user.ltx' file in your STALKER_SHOC folder ( the full path is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\STALKER-SHOC ) 3.) When you load S.T.A.L.K.E.R, go to 'Options' and select 'Use' before playing. For some reason (at least on my PC), if you do not do this, the game will (or may)look far too dark and have too much contrast. 4.) Play! ______________________________________________________________ Uninstallation: Replace my user.ltx file with your original saved copy. ______________________________________________________________ Copyright/ Legal: You can adjust this file to suit your own personal taste. However if you use my mod as part of another mod distributed on this or any other site, I would appreciate a credit to 'NMC' (that's me)in your 'read me'. Thanks.
