Here is the 5th installment of the Real Models to Mods Challenge. In part 5 there are two ships. The first ship is the U.S.S. Argo, Takei CLass. The Takei is fantastic looking TOS era vessel, which reminds me of the Renaissance Class except it has TOS features and is ellongated. The Second is just some better pictures of the K13 Cha'luch Class Assault Cruiser which is in Part 1 of the Real Models to Mods Challenge. A MKII Cha'luch will be seen in further installments of this challenge - the MKII will be a TNG era Attack Cruiser which will be a hybrid/Kitbash of the I.K.S. Intruder and the K13 Cha'Luch. All the RMtM models are definately worth considering building and to prove their worth, here we have the Takeiand Cha'Luch Class Starships. The Challenge is simple. Can you create a mod for Legacy resembling these vessels from what you see here... If you do indeed need more pics we can arrange for that. I have agreed to keep posting updates on these Real Models to Mods Challenge on the site to drum up some interest. From nx9117 (the Modeller) Hello again!!, Now I, starting to show the TOS starships (2 in all). The first is a small model from the old snap together 3 ship from amt. This is the U.S.S. ARGO, NCC-109, Takei class. Based on the Belknap Strike cruiser and the Constitution II with a little of the Endeavor class thrown in to boot! Please note the angled secondary hull which mounts TOS era Heavy phaser pods and the newer deflector array. The ARGO's "neck" has been lengthened and a photon launcher installed as per Enterprise class. A small hanger bay is located in what is left of the secondary hull. The 2nd ship will be sent shortly, as always please let me know if more specs are needed. If you are interested in creating one of these beautiful vessels then either contact me (IKS) at starbase26[AT] or nx9117 at nx9117[AT] Also you can respond via the forums too.
