I think the parachute drop is the Kobayashi Maru, at least that is what the trailer implies..
I am excited about this movie
I just cant wait!
Star Trek is definately back in the big leagues with this! :rock:
The idea of this movie would be great if they just give the crew different names and not reuse the enterprise. I don't like the concept of going back to the begining. All they needed was a new ship and new crew to start new adventures with.
The actual storyline revolves around the time travelling Romulan Nero going back and changing the past in an attempt to kill Kirk but fails which changes his childhood so this is a movie about an alternate universe of Star Trek than what we know which is an interesting concept. So the whole argument about this pissing on star trek canon is kinda nullified. I think this movie has a very good concept behind it.
Even the old Spock says during the movie that this is a different Timeline and that things should be very different. :D
Maybe its an continue of the temporal cold war from the Enterprise Story?
However, cant wait to see the movie!!
It looks very interesting:thumbsup:
@#6: No it's not.
A Romulan (Nero) from the 24th century travelles back in time to change the timeline.
I can't wait to go see it! The visual effects just look amazing.
Zoe Saldana. Thats all, cant go wrong there. Nice effects and everything but still Zoe Saldana...
Don't care what timeline it is..It looks #@!$ Awesome.
I'm really excited to see it, when I first saw the Enterprise, I thought I was gonna puke, but then it just became more and more interesting to me. I hope that they release the ships in little titanium series or whatever, like they they do for Star Wars. I have a number of the Johnny Lightning ones, & I'd love to add to my collectibles.
OMG!! They did you see the part where they collapsed a PLANET! :eek: I AM going to see this!
sry for double post, i mean't to delete "They"
awsome just hope that pace of action carries on throughout to bad there no borg :D:borg:
I personally think it looks really quite poor. They've tried to sensationalize Star Trek, but all they've done is make it silly and contrived. Heck, most of the dialogue in the trailers isn't even grammatically correct. It's like they've taken FRIENDS and combined it with Star Trek to come up with something that is more likely to be palatable to a wider audience (though I'm sure it's going to bomb) but completely abandons the spirit of Star Trek. I will not be wasting a single cent on the movie.
im going to wait and see which way this movie goes. but i like and not like some parts. Then again you tend to get those in a movie. If it is a huge hit it will bring star trek back into the big time but if not then we will have to wait some more untill such a box office hit gives star trek the jump start it needs to get back onto TV screens rather than reruns.
It seems to me this episode will be the most spectacular, grandiose of all ST movies so far! Hope it's not a kind of movie which has great trailer but that's all and you have seen all exciting parts in there. I'll definitelly watch it, but for Gods sake, on May 8th?! Crap, can't wait till then!
Is the woman at 0:27-28 (who holds the baby) really 'Dr. Camaron' from House MD ? :)
So this particular fed Starship (Kirk's Enterprise?) held up for 12 minutes in that Universe? How impressive:cool:
ahh, srry, it should be 'Dr. Cameron'
@1
Thats about as wrong as it gets. Thats the Naradas drilling rig over Vulcan so, its impossible that its the kobay maru since it doesn't exist in the 23rd century so how would starfleet know about it? Also considering the the kobay maru is one fed ship, one tanker, and nine klingon ships in total.
@17
Kelvin you mean, kind of hard not to tell them apart lol.
