File Description

This is another assimilated - or borgified - Sovereign for Legacy that uses the stock model as a base. This time it is from IKS our site manager:

I found this on my HDD a while back must have been doing it months ago and just simply forgot about it so I just decided to package it all up and lob it up here. This is my interpretation of what an assimilated Sovereign should look like. I tried to minic phaser scarring on the hull as well as major hull breaches inflicting by Borg cutting beams. I then placed my own version of borg nodes in the damaged parts, stuck glows on them and bump textured them to appear as actual damage. I was never a big fan of seeing green, purple or yellow "borg glows" from the engines on previous ships - this was never shown when Voyager appeared borgified in Scorpion but rather appeared in Star Trek Armada as a means of showing the assimilated ships as appearing totally different to their previous owners. So I have gone for a mixed bag between both - the glow of the engines are a pale green which means when the ship engines are activated the engines have a strange glow to them as shown in the screenshots.

I tried to get it working as a Borg ship but I really don't have the time to debug things so you'll have to play it as a Federation ship.

In my opinion this is one of the best Borg retextures on the site, since the phaser scarring and the hull breaches look very realistic. I pretty much agree with IKS about the fact that this is how an assimilated ship should look like. From what I can tell this is using the hidden Sovereign textures from the stock game which makes this ship even look better. Download this if you like it and thanks to IKS for finishing one of his many projects.
