This the Excelsior Escort Refit Class. Much like the Nova escort it is an enhanced variant of the original stock starship. This variant includes new phasers and photons to make it stronger. Texture wise the Hull looks alot more smoother with new spec glows and a deflector dish texture. There is also a Romulan cloaking device on it to make things worse for the enemy... Nice ship. Worth taking a look at! ;)

This will add the Excelsior Escort Class It will NOT replace any ships Stardate 57044.9 It is a few months after Shinzons Scimitar was destroyed. The Federation is beginning peace talks with the Romulans and 4 Nova class ships have been recalled to Starbase 612 for refitting. Their science equipment has been gutted to make room for the new experimental weaponry. They have been given the official title of Escort Class. Unofficially they are war ships, nothing more, nothing less Much of their technology is a combination of Defiant, Borg and Dominion technology aquired during previous skirmishes. The ships have been fitted with cloaking devices on loan from the Romulans. Their mission is to protect Federation ambassadors en route to Romulus and back. Stardate 57203.4 A year into the peace talks and renegade Romulan vessels have been attacking the escorts to Romulus. Although the recently refitted Nova Escort classes have kept the renegades at bay for the most part, 2 Federation and 1 Romulan ambassadors were lost when their ship was destroyed. Starfleet has recalled 4 Excelsior class ships carrying the ambassadors for refitting. New Quantum Phasers, Pulse Phasers, Upgraded Quantum Torpedoes and Multiphasic Torpedoes have been fitted. The Romulans have also given Starfleet 4 more cloaking devices. Both the Federation Council and the Romulan Senate both agree these attacks must not escalate into full scale war. Therefore these Escort class ships and their Romulan counterparts have been ordered to seek out and destroy any renegade ships, Romulan or Federation...
