exeterkj.zip —
This is the Exeter Class from a new modder Kophjaeger. She is one of those ships leading us into a future era.
Starship background: Imagine the year 24 something. A controversial leap in technology results in the development of a new project: Exeter. Warhawks emerge in the Federation, quietly pushing this project through, however, during shakedown trials, the prototype is stolen. Throw in double agents from the mirror universe and some radical Klingon types, and you get the pseudo story of this ship.
This ship is intended to be a design bridge between the Monarch class and the 24th century. Maybe she has slip stream drive technology... you figure that one out for me. Fun, into-the-not-so-distant future design in any case.
Looking like a cross between the Defiant and a Constellation Class starship this is a weird but cool design. For a first mod its definitely good but the textures need alot of improvement. Hopefully they can be rectified in future versions.

Fun, into-the-not-so-distant future design in any case. Requirements: I like stock, so this will work on the simplest installations of Legacy. Probably works on the others too. Installation: This is my first release, so I want this to be easy to use for anyone of any skill level. Put all .dds files in your textures/dds folder Put .m3d file in your m3d folder Put F_Exeter into odf/ships Put the two 'torpedo' files in odf/photons Put the two 'phaser' files in odf/phasers Put the three other odf files in odf/pulse The ms3d file is for any milkshapers who want to play around or critque. Its a first release, so some of the way i put it together is a little rough, but i think it works well enough. Open to criticism. ****This ship requires you to modify your weapons.spr in your sprites folder. This isnt hard. If you don't wish to do so, just replace the weapons in the F_Exeter.odf to something from a stock ship. _________________________________ @reference=256 @tmaterial=additive # Federation Pulse phaser pphaser wpulse 0 0 256 64 @anim=tex1x4 __________________________________ >After this line, skip a space and add: # Future Federation Pulse phaser wpulseE wpulseE 0 0 256 64 @anim=tex1x4 >to look like: ____________________________________________________________ @reference=256 @tmaterial=additive # Federation Pulse phaser pphaser wpulse 0 0 256 64 @anim=tex1x4 # Future Federation Pulse phaser wpulseE wpulseE 0 0 256 64 @anim=tex1x4 ____________________________________________________________ >This installs the pulse sprite (which makes pulse phasers apear in the game). Issues: None known. New textures will one day be released, so bear with me. Plus, I don't know how to create a bonified bumpmap using GIMP. If you are going to build future weapons on future ships, by all means, you can use mine with no credit given. If you are going to use the ship for something, please mention me.
