Federation Quasar Class

This is a new TLE era vessel called Quasar and done by tiptop and this time tiptop enters the Starship contest with his model. Tiptop also wrote a very good background story explaining the vessels design and purpose:

After few skirmishes with the new Klingon and Romulan ships in the early 24th century, Starfleet Command decided to ask for a new type of battleship. Two teams of engineers started working on a new design. The first team decided to use cutting-edge technologies. Their project was called Ambassador. The second team designed a new class of ship using less advanced and more proven technologies. The project was called Quasar. Excelsior’s primary weakness was the manoeuvrability. Basically the ship was too big and too sluggish. To achieve greater maneuverability without using the new untested technologies, the ship had to be smaller than Excelsior. The first prototype was equipped with Excelsior nacelles and failed during the initial tests. The prototype was later refitted with new nacelles. The ship was equipped with new types of phaser banks and photon torpedoes (later the same type of weapons were used in the Mk2 versions of the Excelsior class). Since the Ambassador project proved to be a success, only four Quasar ships were constructed and they were assigned as battlecruisers. The Quasar proved to be very useful design during the Federation-Cardassian war. In many cases Cardassian long range sensors had problems recognizing those ships. Cardassian commanders were expecting sluggish Excelsior class vessels and had to fight against much more agile opponent. After a few of such mistakes Cardassian warships were more careful attacking even older Federation ships. All the Quasars were decommissioned in 2356. Just before being decommissioned NCC-1700-C U.S.S. Constitution, served as a test vessel in the Galaxy project.

As this is an entry for the Starship Competition I'll not try to influence your opinion, since you, the site visitors, might vote for this ship or another entry. And if you do, you should have your own opinion, which is why I recommend to download this and compare it to the other entries. Basically it's the typical tiptop ship with well-done textures and a well-done 3d model. Furthermore its textures and weaponry perfectly match the other TLE ships tiptop created.

Installation for Legacy:

Just unpack the archive to Your Legacy folder.
If You're using some of my other TLE mods like the TLE Refit Pack or the Colossus class , some files may be overwriten but that won't make You any problems.
