Federation Warbird Class

federation_dderidex.zip

Description

With the Federation Warbird seeing little action during the thrid Earth-Romulan War because of the confusion of which warbird belonged to which government. Less than a month into the war, Starfleet completely overhauled 80 warbirds to make them more suitable to Starfleet's standards. The USS T'Kumbra, that served with Rouge Fleet in the Gamma Quadrant, although it had Federation colors on it to begin with, it was one of the first ships that went through the refitting process and with a lighter, but effecting armament:

-Mark I - Mark IV Quantum Phaser Arrays -Mark VIII Federation Pulse Phasers -Aft Burst Fire Mark VII Photon Torpedo Warheads -Fore Pulse Mark II Quantum Torpedo Warheads -Mark II Regenerative Ablative Armor -Muilt-Specteral Regenerative Shielding -Federation Mark I Cloaking Device

With the 80 in service and been formally refitted, Starfleet ordered at least half of the fleet to key sectors of Federation Space. 10 starships being placed at the Romulan Neutral Zone, 2 at the Cardassian border, 2 at Deep Space Nine, Deep Space Twelve, and Deep Space Thirteen. The Federation Warbird is also equipped with a tachion detection grid, making it easier to detect cloaked ships before they strike.

To use the tachion detection grid you must be playing against the Romulans (since they're the only ones that ever cloak while in skirmish mode. Press "R" to get the SYSTEMS MASTER DISPLAY, on you bottom right you should see the usual, cloak, self-destruct, long-ranged sensors. Click on Long Range Sensors once you lose contact with the ship, and just close enough to it's last know position. This will also activate the Tachion Detection Grid. Once activated, it'll stay activated until the end of the time limit, or until you've destroyed all enemy ships. The Romulan Empire won't stand a chance...

This is a really cool mod, we've got here. And this is definitely not the usual Federation retexture, it's got quite nice features, such as the tachion grid that's been left in the Legacy engine. There is not much you can say about this, because tj_hawk already mentioned everything that's worth to be mentioned in his description and really nice background story. If you like the idea of cheating a few Romulans with their own technology you should try this out. It's a nice piece of modding.

[Background]

With the Federation Warbird seeing little action during the thrid Earth-Romulan War
because of the confusion of which warbird belonged to which government. Less than a
month into the war, Starfleet completely overhauled 80 warbirds to make them more
suitable to Starfleet's standards. The USS T'Kumbra, that served with Rouge Fleet in
the Gamma Quadrant, although it had Federation colors on it to begin with, it was one
of the first ships that went through the refitting process and with a lighter, but
effecting armament:

-Mark I - Mark IV Quantum Phaser Arrays
	-Mark VIII Federation Pulse Phasers
-Aft Burst Fire Mark VII Photon Torpedo Warheads
-Fore Pulse Mark II Quantum Torpedo Warheads
	-Mark II Regenerative Ablative Armor
	-Muilt-Specteral Regenerative Shielding
	-Federation Mark I Cloaking Device

With the 80 in service and been formally refitted, Starfleet ordered at least half of
the fleet to key sectors of Federation Space. 10 starships being placed at the Romulan Netural Zone, 2 at the Cardassian border, 2 at Deep Space Nine, Deep Space Twelve, and Deep Space Thriteen. The Federation Warbird is also equipped with a tachion detection grid, making it easier to detect cloaked ships before they strike.

[Cloak Detection Use]

To use the tachion detection grid you must be playing against the Romulans (since they're the only ones that ever cloak while in skirmish mode. Press "R" to get the SYSTEMS MASTER DISPLAY, on you bottom right you should see the usual, cloak, self-destruct, long-ranged sensors. Click on Long Range Sensors once you lose contact with the ship, and just close enough to it's last know position. This will also activate the Tachion Detection Grid. Once activated, it'll stay activated until the end of the time limit, or until you've destoryed all enemy ships. The Romulan Empire won't stand a chance...

[User comments]

After putting in about a month and a half of work into the textures and ODF's alone,
I'm finally finished!!!!!!!

[Bugs/Problems]
None!!! :) But as always I am now reponsible for the following:

---------------------------------------------------------------------
-Crashes (and you get that access violation thingy)
-Operates slower than normal
-Personal settings reset
-Act of God (which i seriously doubt will happen lol)
-Damaging of Software or Hardware.
-Is destroyed by friends, family, or 4-legged animals
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I am responsible however, if there is a minor problem with the mod that myself will
fix it at the first chanace I get.
