Somebody's been a busy little bug. This is one of two maps by darthdaddy featuring a crashed capital ship, this one being a CIS cruiser. The CIS start in the hangar with a considerable amount of firepower(including vulture droids, tri fighters, AATs, spider wakers...) and the republic that has come to finish them off has CPs out by some mountains. These capital down maps are actually very fun, and rather well built although with the number of maps this guy has submitted lately I was under the impression each one must not have had too much time spent on it.
The one hole I noticed is in the hangar where there is mounds of dirt by the doors that would normally lead to the rest of the interior, the terrain didn't quite go up al the way and you can see the 'great outdoors'(models are invisible in untextured areas so you see through the inside of the next piece).
CIS put up a good fight, and tri-fighters are a lot of fun to use here(as well as effective) but if I remember right the republic seemed to be a bit overpowering, but since the readme says it likely won't be updated I'll just have to commend you on a well made map.
He doesn't appar to be on the author list already, which makes this his first posted submission and possibly one of hisfirst maps.
STARWARS BATTLEFRONT II Map Capital Down 1 Made by Jonathan Witt (a.k.a. "DarthDaddy") The Story: Clone Wars – A CIS capital ship has crashed landed on a desert planet on the Outer Rim. Obiwan and Anakin are leading a detachment to finish the ship off, while Dooku and Grievous are attempting to establish a base at the crash site. Infantry is on the ground, vehicles have been deployed, and fighters are at the ready. The battle is on! Galactic Civil War – The Alliance has discovered the wreckage of an abandoned capital ship from the Clone Wars period. What's left of the ship has been turned into a base, but the Empire has discovered its whereabouts. Infantry is on the ground, vehicles have been deployed, and fighters are at the ready. The battle is on! Installation: Copy the folder "CD1" to your "Star Wars Battlefront II/GameData/AddOn" directory. Gameplay: I highly recommend turning up the AI controlled opponents to 32 and upping the conquest reinforcements to 500, in order to produce the kind of fight these maps were designed for. Acknowledgments: This map is not without bugs, but provides action that can be both intense and enjoyable. As to whether it is addictive, only time will tell.
