Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack

bf1pack_v175b.exe —

Description

[Note: This version is beta; additionally, this is not the most recent version]

Here is version 1.75 of the Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack.

A lot has changed since the last version so you'll definitely want to grab this. I won't give a full review since this isn't the final version and there's a lot of bugs and broken modes left to be fixed and completed. This is mostly an appetizer for the public and a way for the developers behind the project (well...I should say developer: Teancum) to know what needs fixing/improvement.

Please read the ReadMe guys. I can't stress how important it is. It lists all the known bugs and goes into detail about this new version. Most importantly it gives installation instructions that need to be followed EXACTLY. I'll say it again: THE README HAS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS. I

The pack requires you to have the 1.1 patch. Otherwise it won't work. Be sure to clean out your AddOn folder so you can fit the 31 new maps in the pack. I believe the maximum number of maps you can have in your AddOn folder is 56. Also, one word of advice: Make copies of every file that the installer needs to replace, just to be safe.

Good job Teancum and company. I'm sure 2.0 will be superb.

README

==========================================================
----------------------------------------------------------------
Installation Instructions:

1-If you have previous versions installed, browse to your /Addon folder and delete the following folders (if you don't have a particular folder, don't worry about it): AT4, AT5, AT6, AT7, BS1, BS2, CO1, CO2, CST, GO1, GRN, HAR, KM1, MHA, MTH, RAT, RAX, RH1, RNV, S04 through S15, TA1, YV2. ***DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP, IT IS REQUIRED!

2-Run bf1pack_v175beta.exe, and browse to your /Star Wars Battlefront II/Gamedata directory, then extract.

3-If you follow the first two steps EXACTLY the pack will be installed perfectly. At this point fire the game up and have fun!

------------------------------------------------------------------
New game modes:

---ORDER 66---

TEAMS:
Jedi -- about 5 jedi on in-play, with reinforcements of about 40
Clones -- about 25 clones in-play, wich reinforcements of 120

RULES:
-Either eliminate the jedi or kill of the rogue clones. Whoever is left standing wins.
-Jedi have 7 standard classes to choose from with no-force, plus 3 unlockable classes of force users

---VH---

PREMISE:
Team Deathmatch, but with a large emphasis on vehicles

RULES:
-Each team has 5 vehicle spawns per each CP. Once a vehicle is driven off of the spawn point, up to two more can spawn, meaning that in essence that each CP can have 15 vehicles at a time if they are all used.
-The number of units per team in play is taken by multiplying the number of CPs for that team by 8. (which essentially means that only 8 units should spawn from each CP)
-The game is played until reinforcement count reaches zero
-No flyers are included. Only hovers and walkers

---Team Dogfight (space)---

RULES:
-Points are only gained by killing enemy fighters or reinforcements. Last team alive wins

---Uber---

RULES:
-It's Conquest, but with XL units/reinforcements (since regular XL is supposed to be a large-scale Team Deathmatch)

---Holocron---

RULES:

Somewhere on the 'field' there's a holocron. Your job is to grab it, then hold onto it for 90 seconds. Teammates will be working to defend you, enemies will be trying to kill you. First team to get 5 points wins.

The holder gets a personal shield to protect them from the rush of incoming fire. If there's any of that shield left after the timer reaches zero, you get to keep it until you die.

---Classic Conquest--- (INCOMPLETE for beta)

PREMISE:
-Play Conquest like it was in Battlefront 1.

INFORMATION:
-Battlefront 1 style units --- no unlockables, no awards, possibly no sprint
-The vehicles from Battlefront 1 all in their same spawn locations
-***Sorry, no Red vs Green. I thought I had a fix, but I was wrong

---Deathmatch--- (INCOMPLETE for beta)

RULES:
-It you versus everyone else (gametype coded by [RDH]Zerted)

---Team Deathmatch---

RULES:
-It's team on team to the death (this is a scaled-down version of XL)

----------------------------------------------------------------------
NEW HEROES:
-Luke Skywalker (Bespin)
-Luke Skywalker (Tatooine)
-Lando Calrissian
-Corran Horn
-Kyle Katarn
-Durge
-Asajj Ventress
-Yun
-Jerec
-Admiral Sarn
-IG-88
-Cin Drallig
-Episode I Obi-Wan Kenobi
-Episode II Anakin Skywalker
-Quinlan Vos
-Sharad Hett
-Plo Koon
-Qui-Gon Jinn
-Jano Morel (character Teancum created)

KNOWN BUGS
--------------------------------------------------------

Fixed Bugs:
-Bespin: Cloud City, the map height is way too high. Units aren't meant to be able to reach the top of some of the buildings.
-Bespin: Cloud City, some of the spawning camera shots are on locations not part of the map.
-Tatooine Dune Sea: Hunt all sound is gone except the gun switching and lock-on sounds
-Bespin: Platforms, the Rebel bomber explodes when attempting to fire a bomb
- Deathstar: Holocron with Rebels vs Imps, some of the spawning map camera spots are off.
-Coruscant Order 66, the game crashes before it finishes loading
-When spawning Cin Drallig the game crashes
- Grapple Droid is overpowered. (removed)
-Bespin: Cloud City GCW 1-Flag doesn't work in single player. It's the whole 150/150 per side and nobody spawning thing.
-Space Rhen Var Assault mode not working
-Space Kamino 1-flag mode not working
-Methlyn CW crashes

Bugs Being Fixed:
-On Bespin: Platforms, the Clone's light fighter seems to overheat too slow. I was able to kill 4 elite enemy fighters in one continous fire before overheating.
-On Bespin: Platforms, the Rebel X-Wing's secondary weapon seems to shoot way too fast.
-On Deathstar: Holocron with Rebels vs Imps, the Holocron spawned in space.

-On Deathstar: Holocron, the AI started pushing the Holocron carriers through walls (but that one is mostly likely my fault).
-On Raxus Prime, the map crashed to the desktop before it finished loading. (I forget which mode)
-Kashyyyk Islands classic conquest doesn't run (though I think you mentioned that somewhere, not sure).
-The snipers can't place auto-turrets. (forgot which mode and map)
-The game modes need their name in the ingame map. With so many game modes, its not possible to tell which one you are playing at any given time.
-Those two new units need proper strings. They wheren't showing up on Bespin: Cloud City.
-Classic Conquest Bespin Platforms crashes to desktop
- the B-wing is really cool, but aiming with it is almost impossible straight-on. If there's a way to either move it down so you can see your aim point in 3rd person OR make it more powerful so your lack of aim is offset by power, that would make it better.
- Methlyn crashes to desktop in the clone wars era on conquest (probably on all clone war era game types)
-Space Muunilist Assault is broken (loads, but doesn't actually play correctly)
-The Geonosian Fanblades in Space Muunilist are partly untextured
- On Rattatak Arena Hunt jedi have the killing spree voices from whatever hero they have the animation from
-Raxus Prime VH mode crashes
-7th Commander skin is on Raxus Prime with the Shock Troopers
-Jabba's Palace CW Hunt - the sides choice is Gammoreans and Republic, but it's really the CIS
-Geonosis: Arena crashes when trying to spawn, something is wrong with the units

PLEASE NOTE:
-Classic Conquest IS NOT FINISHED, please hold bug reports on that
-If you experience a crash, I need to know the map, mode and era so I can fix it.

Huh wonder if anyone still cares...But anyway, I've been having problems with the maps.
they just cut back and forth from being able to see to a black screen

FileTrekker

Problem with the maps going black in the game? It could be a graphics driver issue?

Bayrain Davis

Wow that was fast, no its not a graphics issue

I might have been and ENB error but it was happening to all my maps after I dropped in this map pack. I did a fresh reinstall of all my mods and data just to make sure

FileTrekker

Yeah, weird, not sure if this installer does anything else but it may be a case of removing half the lvl files, see if that solves it, if not, put them back and remove the other half. If that works, then one of the maps is causing an issue, it'd e trial and error finding the culprit. That is assuming that shaders, textures etc. aren't being replaced somewhere and causing the problem, as you say.

Let me know if you solve it.

Bayrain Davis

The culprit was discord

The overlay causes black screen when you are close to reaching the 500 mission limit. Just disabling that works fine. Now I just need to find out how to surpass the 500 mission limit and add the full out conversion pack

Ahhhhhhhhhh. Yeah, I hate Discord overlay, it does some pretty funky things especially with older games.

i know it's been a real long time, but whenever i try to install, i get a `"BattlefrontII.exe=BattlefrontII.exe" does not exist` error
I'm using steam, so my folder path is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData"

FileTrekker

The installer was created before the Steam version existed, which is probably why this is happening. The correct directory is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData"  - you need to select the correct directory in the installer for it to work.
