Aha. As you might expect from Darthdaddy (from his short but impressive record) this map is quite a joy to play. Command posts surround a large stone complex, containing a number of temples in which the rebels have taken refuge as they shuttle off the survivors of the 501sts attack . There are ground transports for both teams in this game flying around and though I did see a gunship crash into the hills/trees once or twice it doesn't seem to be too much of a drawback. Surely, the rebels lost because of my mad skillz.
If you're Boba Fett or some other jet class you can even jump on the enemy transports while they are landed within the complex and see how long you can stay on after takeoff. Command flyers aside there are few vehicles, but they wouldn't be able to get in and out because of the walls anyway.
Though it classifies as a map with multiple modes it sems the focus was Conquest only, as Assault seemed lacking. There didn't appear to be any planning(a bot might go to fight but once the fight was done they would never move again) and there didn't seem to be many spawning. It could be that or since they weren't moving at all I had to routinely check every enemy command post to see if they had respawned there yet. With the number of CPs and distance they are at it was a bit of a chore, honestly.
It's still fun as a conquest map, though reinforcements can be stretched a bit thin over the map. I'm really hoping he gets around to sending us more maps soon.
STARWARS BATTLEFRONT II Map Yavin 4: Temple Complex Made by Jonathan Witt (a.k.a. "DarthDaddy") The Story: Clone Wars – The CIS has established a base on the remote planet of Yavin 4, where Dooku is rumored to be trying to clone a dead Sith apprentice. Yoda, Obiwan, and Anakin are leading a hasty attack to prevent Dooku's breeding of a Sith army. Galactic Civil War – The Alliance is staggering in the face of the 501st's assault on Yavin 4. The rebels are defending an ancient temple complex while transports ferry away the last of their troops. Vader has ordered that none should escape alive. Installation: Copy the folder "YTC" to your "Star Wars Battlefront II/GameData/AddOn" directory. Gameplay: I highly recommend turning up the AI controlled opponents to 32 and upping the conquest reinforcements to 500, in order to produce the kind of fight these maps were designed for. Acknowledgments: This map is not without bugs, but provides action that can be both intense and enjoyable. It is an unusual selection of troops to choose from, but one intense firefight.
