Yavin 4: Temple Complex 3.0 is an update from Jonathan Witt (a.k.a. "DarthDaddy").

For those who don't know what the general layout of the old map was like, there's a large temple/courtyard area ringed with cps which the attackers spawn at. Inside the rather large courtyard are smaller temple/ruins. For those who have played the earlier versions of this map, a fair amount has changed. The area surrounding the central temple is not nearly as empty as it used to be; DarthDaddy has added small mazes of ruins in places, and other things making it seem less barren.

Most every land vehicle in the game makes an appearence, along with ariel troop transports for the CIS/Rebels. The vehicle that spawns is dependent on who controls their cp, so a certain one might not make an appearence until late in the game, after the cps have been switched up a bit.

DarthDaddy has done a good job making the sides seem unique without actually including custom sides. They haven't really changed from the other versions; Marines are still the basic unit, and each side (minus the CIS) has two playable heros from the get-go, plus the regular unlockable one. That makes for a total three heros a side, bound to make this map a popular multiplayer choice. There are a about a jillion units on this map (if you turn up the count even more like the readme says), and most of them could use some better AI. Somtimes about eighty units will just clump up in one spot while the rest run around on the other side of the map. You hardly notice , though (until the end when you have to confront the clump by yourself; actually pretty fun, in it's own way), since there's enough other units to put up a fight.

As a whole, the map seems to be just a big, explosive, pseudo-sandbox-like battle. If you like sniping, there will be no end to targets. If you like vehicular slaughter, everythings great. If you like being a regular unit and walking into a room with about thirty enemies pointing their guns at you, well, you'll die, but you can do that too.

Yavin 4: Temple Complex (Version 3.0)

Made by: Jonathan Witt (a.k.a. "DarthDaddy")

Changes & Updates:

I was never satisfied with this map or my other Yavin 4 map, so I decided to encorporate the best elements of both into this one map. That is why I changed some of the structures and added a series of ruined buildings in the more empty areas of the map. This gives a variety of combat, both close quarters and on open ground.

The unit count has been greatly increased to 150 units on the field at once for each team. This alone makes the battle much more intense than before. The attackers have more reinforcements because they have the more difficult task of invading the complex and also because it better fits the story.

I added two more cp's within some of the ruined buildings. I also added some destructable wooden barricades to block the stairway exits, adding to the defenses of the plaza.

There is now some foliage outside of the temple complex itself to add a more realistic landscape.

I improved the AI quite a bit to reduce the amount of soldiers just standing around, but you may still see a little odd behavior occasionally.

I also added an in-game map, but it is not exactly lined up.

This map is now much more stable and enjoyable overall.

The Story:

Clone Wars – The CIS has established a base on the remote planet of Yavin 4, where Dooku is rumored to be trying to use the DNA of a dead Sith apprentice to clone a Sith army. Yoda, Obiwan, and Anakin are leading a hasty attack to stop Dooku and destroy any Sith clones.

Galactic Civil War – The Alliance is staggering in the face of the 501st's assault on Yavin 4. The rebels are defending an ancient temple complex while transports ferry away the last of their troops. Vader has ordered that none should escape alive.

Installation: First, create a new folder called "addon" in your "Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData" folder (unless you have already done so). Second, extract the "YTC" folder from the zip into your "Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\AddOn" folder. You should be good to go!

Gameplay: I highly recommend turning up the AI controlled opponents to 32 in order to produce the kind of fight this map was designed for.

Acknowledgments: I would like to thank everyone for the interest in my maps, as well as the feedback and suggestions.
