After months of hard work and one on one with GameSpy, Starfleet Universe has finally developed a download and model depository for the community, which can be easily accessed via http://www.starfleetuniverse.com/files.shtml. Using the pafilesDB engine, the system is easy to maintain and moddable similar to PHPBB.
Already available are some 400 models from early SFC1 and SFC2 days. While most of these do not have details to them, we ask that users please submit the readme file and a screenshot to [email protected]
so that I may update the information.
Users may also submit their own files, which will then be added to the system by one of our filers (interested filers may apply to [email protected]
). The file will not appear til one of the filers approves it and puts it in the proper category.
Please note that the database is still being modified and upgraded. In the coming weeks we will have licenses modelers can select that users have to agree to in order to download the file. These are currently being written up to protect the modeler's work and keep their best interests in mind. We are also going to work out an alliance/association with SFC3.NET once their database is online and possibly SFC3Files.
Any comments, questions, and suggestions can be emailed to [email protected]
