The Lyrans invented the fast patrol ship (PF). The Bobcat came in many variants. All were fast, and all were deadly. A flotilla of PFs carried the equivalent firepower of a dreadnought at a far reduced cost both economically and crew wise. In the later stages of the war it was rare to find a Lyran vessel that didn't carry at least a couple of Bobcats to augment their firepower.
