The Constellation class was fielded during the 2280's as a modern counterpart to the Constitution class then in service. Like the Constitutions, the Constellation requirement issued in 2272 called for a vessel capable of long-duration exploratory, scientific and diplomatic missions. The new ship was to be able to perform this role over the longer ranges called for now that the Federation had acquired new members beyond its previous borders. In addition, the Constellations combat capability was to put it ahead of any current or projected vessel in the Romulan and Klingon Empires. Class: Heavy Cruiser (CA)
Title : U.S.S Constellation Filename : Constellation.zip Version : 1.1 final This ship can be used in SFC and SFC II Date : 2/2/2001 Author : Don Woligroski (A.K.A. - Cleeve) Email : firstname.lastname@example.org website : www.STARYARDS.com Credits : Brad at SFB to SFC (I think it's Brad...?), for making the SCME utility available to us starship lovers, and whose readme file I used as a template as my own! check them out at http://starfleet.thegamers.net *****NOTE***** Use the file Constellation.mod for SFC Use the file Constellation-i.mod for SFC II Description of the Modification ------------------------------- The Constellation class... Picard's stargazer is the most famous of these ships, they have been used extensively in ST:TNG as examples of "older" starships. In SFC, I consider the Constellation class to be on par with the Excelsior (as far as BPV goes) and therefore I use the model to replace the New Jersey Class battlecruiser. This is my second Constellation class... the older version was my first attempt at making mods for Starfleet Command. It was a mangled Federation battleship mesh with custom textures. This one, however, is a completely new mesh, ground up. This is one of my favorite ships, so I wanted to do her proud. Steps to install ---------------- 1. Make a new directory in your Starfleet Command\Assets\Models\ folder called "Constellation" 2. Copy the contents of the zip file into the new "Starfleet Command\Assets\Models\Constellation\" folder. 3. Finally, open the sfbspc.txt file (or shiplist.txt in sfc II) located in the Starfleet Command\Assets\Specs\ folder with MS Excel. a. From here you have two choices you can: 1. Replace the model geometry of one of the existing ships (the new Jersey class is my pick) with the following \Assets\Models\CONSTELLATION\Constellaion.mod (for SFC) OR with the following \Assets\Models\CONSTELLATION\Constellaion-i.mod (for SFC II) b. Or : 1. you can insert the Constellation stats inbetween the existing row entries of the sfbspc.txt file. <<CAUTION: This may cause some problems with the function of SFC, espically during Multiplayer and Single player campaigns>> Copyright and Distribution Permissions -------------------------------------- THIS PATCH IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY INTERPLAY TM & (C) INTERPLAY & PARAMOUNT PICTURES.
