The D-7 is probably the most infamous cruiser ever to stalk the spacelanes. These ships are associated with death and destruction on a scale second to none. When first introduced, these vessels captured the minds and spirits of the Klingon commanders so fully that for many years they were the symbol of Klingon tyranny. Now replaced by the K'T'Inga class battlecruiser, the venerable D-7 soldiers on in the roles of fleet support and patrol cruiser. Class: Light Cruiser (CL)
TOS D-7C "Gr'oth" class cruiser From "Trials and Tribble-ations" VERSION 2, RESIZED AND MORE HARDPOINTS ADDED, AS OF OCT 2001. This ship seems to be a "phase II" cruiser, upgraded from the original D-7 but not quite a K't'inga yet. The detailing is engraved on, not plated like on the K't'inga. The model was made by Greg Jein and used in the DS9 episode "Trials and tribble-ations".
