this looks like one of the better kitbashes out there just look at the pic
Developed as a prototype for the new I.P.E.C. (Ionized Photon Energy Cannon) concept developed by Starfleet scientists as a weapon against the Karania Imperium, an enemy that slightly resembles the borg. The Karania use a biogenic virus to convert living matter into either energy or a biological construction compound to build either new ships or even crew members. This virus can be administered in countless ways: a gas from the environmental systems, or much like the Borg's nanoprobe transfer. The Karania have biological based weaponry as well as ships, energy plants and everything else used on their ships. They communicate telepathically with each other as well as other vessels. Although their ships are made with biological materials, they still use tritanium hulls as their hull. The first encounter with the Karania was in 2389 by the U.S.S. Morden, a Defiant class, that discovered a temporary wormhole from the border between the Beta Quadrant and the Delta Quadrant. A single Karania vessel emerged and infected the crew. There were no survivors, however, an automated distress call was sent out. The wormhole closed, and Starfleet discovered that it was an artificial singularity, much like the Borgs transwarp appetures. Starfleet came up with the concept of an Ion cannon, but the Klingons had already developed that. So, in the years ahead, Starfleet came up with the idea of a Photon cannon. Simulations were promising, but it wasn't much more powerful than a quantum torpedo. Research continued, and they developed the I.P.E.C. Prototype. However, they did not have a compatable hull configuration that could handle the new weapon. They developed the Hera Class prototype, the NX Morden-B. The weapon was compatible, and the power flow was stable. The prototype was sent into an unexpected live fire trial when a rogue Borg Sphere appeared near Alpha Centauri. The trial was extremely successful, neutralizing the vessel in one shot. Unfortunatly, the cannon caused a power overload and the prototype was left dead in space for nearly a month. The problem was fixed, and the vessel was sent out again, this time to intercept a fleet of Ferengi Smugglers. Although the Morden was damaged, the pirates were stopped succesfully. The damage was more extensive as the crew had first suspected, and another power overload was in progress, more sever than the first. A massive explosion resulted, destroying the bridge, and killing all the bridge crew before they could escape. The ranking officer at that time sent out a distress call, and the Prometheus came to the rescue. After an investigation was conducted, it was found that the power surge was deliberate. Lieutenant Hough Gunty was found responsible, and he was tracked down. It was found that he had been infected with the Virus, and was being controlled by a cloaked Karania vessel 50 lightyears from the Sol system. The vessel was chased down and destroyed with the Morden, but with a different crew. The crew that had remained on the Morden after the bridge explosion was quarantined, but noone else was found to be infected. The Hera class was put to production in 2396. Notable Hera class vessels include the U.S.S. Janeway (NCC-22911), U.S.S. Hera (NCC 75556), U.S.S. Backwater (NCC 20467), and the NX Morden-B (NX-09). Class: Battlecruiser (BC)
