Description

This is my attempt at it, and I got the shields to disappear completely (No shadows left). Just follow the readme's instructions and you're good to go...

A Simplistic mod, merely extract the bitmap into your "SFC3/Assets/Textures/" folder.
It will replace the proper file.
 
Effect: Shields are completely erased, no visible traces left.
