This, quite simply extends the range on the tactical missiles so they can shoot from further away.
I've been playing with the demo for quite a while, just got the full game, and while it's great fun, I only rarely use tactical missiles. The cause of this, I have decided, is range. The mobile missile launchers are great, and (if you can afford them) a missile sub is extremely handy even before you get nukes in it... But the stationary tacmissile silo? The range is so short, and you have to manually select it, and assign engineers to get the missiles built quickly... in short, I wasn't happy. I decided the main reason I disliked them was because T2 artillery has comparable range, and the damage is great but difficult to use - ships move out of the way, and building them near a base is hard because they're in range of t2 artillery. So I changed it. Here's a mod (selectable in the mod manager and everything!) that adds range to them, in two versions, 1.75x and 2.5x. I've tested it, and they work for me so far, but I'm going to fiddle more For a start, this is very unbalancing. The 2.5x mod makes base defense much harder as constant swarms of tacmissiles will surely be heading your way on any of the smaller maps. I plan to update the costs/buildtimes of the missiles, and eventually try and get target tracking working with them (I note the computer's tacmissiles track perfectly, but mine do not Sad ).
