File Description

I think the author does the best job of describing this, so we'll let him do the explaining.

This mod takes one or more units' orders, and mixes up the Attack orders in a random way.

Since I find it hard to explain what it exactly does, I've added some pictures that show what the mod does.

But basically, it makes units attack the enemy more in parallel, then just one enemy unit at a time.

A very good application for this mod, and also a good example, is with bombers. Normally, when you issue multiple commands to a group of bombers, they all attack the first enemy, and only when that one's dead, they attack the next enemy. Most of those bombers die pretty quick once that first enemy is attacked. And while the first enemy is probably killed, it would have been nice to be able to bomb more units.

Most people use groups here, and let group 1 attack unit A, group 2 attack unit B, etc. This way, more units can be attacked simultaneously. With this mod, that's (almost) done automatically. Just select a group, tell them which units to attack, press the mod key and all those enemy units will be attacked simultaneously.

Overall, a very creative, innovative, original and interesting mod. Promising to be very fun to play around with as well!

Description
-----------

This mod takes one or more units' orders, and mixes up the Attack orders in a random way.

Since I find it hard to explain what it exactly does, I've added some pictures that show
what the mod does.

But basically, it makes units attack the enemy more in parallel, then just one enemy unit at a time.

A very good application for this mod, and also a good example, is with bombers. Normally, when you issue
multiple commands to a group of bombers, they all attack the first enemy, and only when that one's dead,
they attack the next enemy. Most of those bombers die pretty quick once that first enemy is attacked.
And while the first enemy is probably killed, it would have been nice to be able to bomb more units.

Most people use groups here, and let group 1 attack unit A, group 2 attack unit B, etc. This way,
more units can be attacked simultaneously. With this mod, that's (almost) done automatically.
Just select a group, tell them which units to attack, press the mod key and all those enemy units
will be attacked simultaneously.

Please note that this mod has some flaws. Only move and attack orders can be spread, other orders
(like building units) disappear when the mod's key is activated. Formation orders work,
but when spread are translated to normal non-formation orders. And sometimes already finished orders
can come back when activating the mod. If this happens, clearing all orders and re-issuing them again
works most of the time.

Installation
------------

To Install:
 - Copy the file 'SpreadAttack.scd' into your 'gamedata' folder

To Uninstall:
 - Remove the file 'SpreadAttack.scd' from your 'gamedata' folder

The 'gamedata' folder resides in the map where you installed Supreme Commander into.
Normally, this is: 'C:\Program Files\THQ\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander'.
If it's installed elsewhere, you probably know where you've put it.

Usage
-----

The mod is activated by pressing the 'G' key:

- First make sure the mod is active when starting a new game.
- Give some orders.
- Then select the units whose attack orders you want to spread.
- Press the 'G' key.

This will mix the attack orders of all units selected.

Known Bugs
----------

- Build orders cannot be spread with this mod, only move and attack commands.
- Formation commands can be spread, but are then renamed to normal non-formation commands instead.
- The mod may generate false or already finished orders. If this happens, re-issue the orders
and try it again. This is due to a limitation in modding the orders system.

Closing words
-------------

Thanks to Goom's Area Commands, I used it as a reference for making this mod.

Thanks to GPGNet for the modding help.

Have fun,
Magic Power
