And frankly, they are terrifying. Created by modder Mihail, you can now enjoy dungeon crawling in Skyrim with the added surprise of chests randomly turning into frightening monsters who are looking to devour your soul.

The mod's description describes the Mimics as the "strangest deadra of Sheogorath" - disguising themselves as chests which will wait for victims to try and open them, after which they will reveal their true form and attack, "with their enormous mouth filled with pointed teeth and tearing skin with their long arms with sharp claws".

As you can see from the video above, it's pretty terrifying. I love it, though, it really adds another level of suspense to dungeon explorations, and I suppose it's even lore friendly, although few things in Tamriel are quite this horrifying.
