This Skyrim SE mod makes books actually useful

By FileTrekker 4 years ago, last updated 4 years ago

Books are interesting to read in the world of Skyrim, and they do give some insight into the lore of Tamriel, but the fact is, outside of this one (and arguably only legitimate) use, they don't really do much else. This new mod for Special Edition, named "Project Illiteracy", gives players far more opportunity to use the books they've collected for other purposes.

Once you've read a book, or if you simply don't like it, you'll be able to use a new ability named "Destroy Books" to tear it up and use the resulting paper for magic scrolls, or as kindling for a fire, for example. There's a nice level of detail here, too. If you tear up a longer book, for example, you'll get more paper than a smaller one.

With the resulting paper you'll be able to make new scrolls, which is the most useful purpose of the mod, but it's also possible to burn them, which may also have it's uses. The author has made the mod compatible with another mod, named Campfire, that does what it says on the tin. When combined, the paper makes a good kindling for starting your campfire.

The mod was created by Epic Crab, and you can download it over here.
