It must be a challenge for the team at Maxis to pull off another expansion for the Sims every half a year or so, but as usual they have somehow managed to do it with flying colors. Every Sims expansion that has ever been released has had some sort of main theme, and this is no exception to that rule. This expansion is focused on getting out of that grotty place you call a house and into the city to socialise and ‘mingle’. Along with an-all new dating sim, the game has a relatively large number of new destinations in the downtown area covering dance clubs, shops, cafés, chill-out spots, bowling alleys, and parks. Getting sims to socialize now is easy thanks to new features like the ability to ask other sims questions about themselves, go out on outings in groups, and date. Dates in particular are active for the player and are very comparable to the Greek Rush mini-game from the University expansion. For dates, it's a matter of keeping those people entertained and excited to be out. Getting your sims to fall in love is now somewhat easier due to the new “What do you want?” query. One sim can ask this to another sim and they will respond, varying from “A peck on the cheek,” to “Woohoo back at your place.” Nightlife is definitely a worthy addition to your sims collection.
