Found this cool little article over on Alistair takes you through the basics and explains the tools used as he goes along. He also gives some very good and easily understood background information on the visual phenomenon of depth perception and it's relation to 3d development.
The aim of this first article in the series is to introduce you to some of the concepts and terminology used in 3D editing apps, as well as give a brief overview of UED, its interface and some of the tools we'll be using along the way towards building your very first level. Go ahead and start UED now, take a good look at it. Confused? I'm not surprised, a modern 3D design app can be a daunting sight to anyone at first glance. Okay close UED down, grab a cup of coffee and let us guide you through an introduction to UED.
