I designed the fortress to be well-defended and have good movement within as well as z-axis fighting. There are a couple of intentional "choke" points to provide a very defendable area. The Super Weapons are provided and become very handy when the Warlords show up. I did not want the map to be over when the Warlords show up as it is on most maps. They are certainly the most fun to fight! This map allows you to fight them for awhile.

The fortress has areas of sanctuary to "catch your breath" and restore some power. THere is risk in obtaining the Redeemer at the higher levels to make it much more difficult to achieve high levels of gameplay (level 20+)...but it can be done. The player spawn points are placed close to the fortress wall to allow late joining players to have a chance to join in without dying immediately. I usually do not include super weapons (I feel they require little skill), however on this map they certainly require great skill and patience to use successfully without killing yourself or a teammate.

Known bugs              :THIS MAP IS FOR USE ON THE INVASION GAME MOD ONLY!!!  It will not play as a DM level very well, especially with bots.
			:When playing invsion with bots, the bots will not defend the castle and will not go for power-ups...I strongly recommend this map for ONLINE PLAY ONLY!
			:Spawning may be difficult (fragged before you can get to safety) for new players joining the match mid-level at the higher levels.
			
Recommended players     :3-6 players works best for Invasion play as online multiplayer.  Once again, if bots are used as teammates, don't expect much assistance in the higher levels.

As the Skaarj advance across the territory, a small band of defiant warriors manage to escape to a well-defended mountain fortress.  The fortress is designed to provide sanctuary under the most severe and brutal of attacks.  The warriors and their fortress will be tested by the advancing enemy forces, wave after wave.  If you can hold the fortress and destroy much of the Skarrj Army you can secure freedom for your people and homeland.  Can you make a stand and hold the fortress in a final act of DEFIANCE?

BOTS-->  This map represents a specific style of play for the Invasion game mod for UT2K3.  Due to the difficulties in this process, bot play may suffer severely.  This map is intended for online multiplay for the Invasion mod or possibly as single player offline without bots.  THe difficulty with the bots is that the monsters spawn on path nodes.  To keep the monsters from spawning "inside" the fortress, the bot paths were eliminated inside the fortress.  That means that the bots cannot get to many of the powerups, weapons, teleporters, and safety.

ADMINS-->  When running this map on a server, it may be necessary to set a time limit for the map rotation - generally 60 minutes should be enough.  It depends on how tough you have the Invasion settings.  If you set the level up to at least Experienced most matches should end in a reasonable time.  However, with good players, teamwork, patience and certain strategies, game length can be quite extended.  This is great for players that love to frag the Warlords, but it may cause your server to be on this map more than some of the others in your rotation.  Also it is good to allow super weapons on this map, it is just more fun with them.
