Also created "planet lightning" effect which looks much like lightning viewed by the Space Shuttle from space. ======================================================== * Highlights and Warnings * ======================================================== This level was designed to deliver a realistic outdoors, night-time setting with some decent Z-axis (height) gameplay and intelligent bot play. However, due to the shape of the level, the map will average about 20FPS on a fast computer near the center of the map. Facing away from the center, however, yields much higher FPS. If the map is slow, try either decreasing your detail settings, decreasing your resolution, or exiting any other programs that are running at the same time as UT2003. ======================================================== * Bot Play * ======================================================== The bots do very well to reach every pickup on the map, jump when they need shortcuts, take paths through trees, and find high spots to fire from. I've seen no spots where bots get stuck. The bots kick my ass repeatedly on "Godlike" which is a good sign for mappers :) ======================================================== * Build Time * ======================================================== About two months, working 3-7 evenings a week after my day job. Half of this time was spent in dialogue with the members of Unreal Playground, whose suggestions guided this map towards its best.
