dweather2003.zip —
This pack contains a small assortment of new actors to be used in UnrealEd for UT2003 maps. Please note that they are not compatible with UT2004, for various reasons.
The actors supplied in the pack are all centered around lighting and weather. Possibly the most useful ones are the sunlight and fading light actors, but all of them create nice effects when used properly.
For mappers out there who want a little extra lighting quality, this pack is a must-have. Make sure to read the included documentation, it features a few important notes!

======================= DWeather for 2003 ======================= TITLE: DWeather2003 AUTHOR: Marzer/Relic (Joe Unik) E-MAIL: [email protected] WEBSITE: http://users.ctc.net/baud/index.htm FILENAME: dweather2003.zip FILESIZE: 189 kb DATE RELEASED: 02 December 2006 VERSION: 1.0 ======================= INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Put the following files in the respective folders... DWeather.u > UT2003\System DWeather-smesh.usx > UT2003\Staticmeshes DWeather-Tex.utx > UT2003\Textures ======================= DESCRIPTION: This package is based upon MarZer's DWeather code for UT2004. I have created this modified code package for use in UT2003 with his permission. Because of the actor class structure in UT2004, some of the actors were not able to be converted for use in 2003. Below are the actors that were kept intact. DWeather 2003 actor classes: DWChargingLight DWEmitter DWFadingLIght DWLight (parent) DWMapInfo DWSkyZoneInfo DWSunlight DWTimedTrigger DWTriggerLight DWZoneInfo DWMaterialTriggerReplicationInfo ======================= BUGS: As with the original DWeather package for 2004, terrain will not be lit by the DWSunlight actor. To get a good day/night transition, try using a lower brightness Sunlight actor along with several DWFadingLight actors. This will give you some evenly dispersed base lighting along with shadow casting while the DWFadingLight actors, being brighter, will give you a nice day/night effect. ======================= CREDITS: Thanks to MarZer for allowing me to modify the original code...and to the rest of the original DWeather team. ======================= COMMENTS: Usage/Info for Mappers: You can load this package into a myLevel package, or include the files with your map distribution. The DWLight actors enable you to fade a lights brightness and color over a specified amount of time. This is usefull to create day and night effects. Likewise, DWSkyInfo and DWZoneInfo enable you to dynamically adjust/fade distance fog over time changing color and fog distance. One of the more handy actors is the DWTimedTrigger which enables you to trigger events at specified time intervals. ======================= THIS MODIFICATION IS NOT MADE, DISTRIBUTED, OR SUPPORTED BY EPIC GAMES, DIGITAL EXTREMES OR ATARI.
