This mutator adds options to intensify the personal battles within a game.
Icons can be added above each player's last killer and last victim. The last killer icon helps you seek revenge for your last death. The last victim icon helps you hunt down your last victim for consecutive frags.
Bonuses can be awarded for getting revenge on your last killer or for success against a particular opponent. Possible bonuses are: Revenge, Domination, Ownage, and Disgrace.
Players earning bonuses will receive that point value, plus 2x that value in adrenaline. Suicides or team kills automatically reset any eligibility for or progress toward a particular bonus, but getting killed does not.
MUTATOR: Vendetta VERSION: 4 GAME : UT2004 AUTHOR : L7 (L7 AT noobed DOT com) DATE : 06/19/2005 INSTALLATION: Uninstall any prior versions of this mutator first. There is an automated ut4mod package or manual zip package available. To use the ut4mod, simply download and run the Vendetta_V4.ut4mod. In order for this to work, you must meet the requirements (UT2004) and have the ut4mod file type properly associated with UT2004. To perform a manual install instead, download Vendetta_V4.zip. Extract the contents to the appropriate directories in your main UT2004 directory. The following files are installed to your UT2004 directory: ..\System\Vendetta_V4.u ..\System\Vendetta_V4.ucl ..\System\Vendetta_V4.int ..\System\Vendetta.ini ..\Help\Vendetta_V4ReadMe.txt CONFIGURATION: ServerPackages-> Vendetta uses the bAddToServerPackages value to automate this process. This option requires the UT2004 3236 patch or higher. If you are using an older version, you will have to manually add the server packages to your UT2004.ini file. The UT2004.ini can be found in the System directory. To add the server packages: Open the UT2004.ini with a text editor. Find the section called [Engine.GameEngine]. After the last 'ServerPackages=' entry add: ServerPackages=Vendetta_V4 Settings-> All settings can be found on the mutator GUI configuration page. The following is a brief description of each setting: Icons: Adds icons above each player's last killer and last victim. These icons will aid players in waging personal vendettas. Messages: Broadcasts the special Vendetta messages. The killer and victim will receive sound notifications and large HUD messages that compliment the 'You Killed' or 'killed you' messages. Other clients will only receive a smaller HUD console notification of the event. Revenge Bonus: Reward for getting revenge on the last killer (first kill after respawn). This bonus is ONLY rewarded if the player's FIRST kill after respawning is their last killer. Domination Level: Number of consecutive kills required to dominate another player. This is a spree of consecutive 'wins' against a particular player without suciding or team killing. Setting this less than 3 will remove it (use 0 for clarity). Domination Bonus: Reward for dominating another player. Ownage Level: Number of consecutive kills required to own another player. This is a spree of consecutive 'wins' against a particular player without suciding or team killing. Setting this less than 3 will remove it (use 0 for clarity). Ownage Bonus: Reward for owning another player. Disgrace Level: Number of consecutive kills required to disgrace another player. This is a spree of consecutive 'wins' against a particular player without suciding or team killing. Setting this less than 3 will remove it (use 0 for clarity). Disgrace Bonus: Reward for disgracing another player. In certain cases, dedicated servers may not have access to the GUI mutator configuration page. In these cases, WebAdmin can be used. These Settings will be located in the WebAdmin 'Vendetta' group. You can also change your settings by directly editing the Vendetta.ini file. It will be located in the System directory. Here is a description of the Vendetta.ini: [Vendetta_V4.MutVendetta] bIcons=True //Boolean: True or False bMessages=True //Boolean: True or False RevengeBonus=1 //Integer: Range: 0 to 5 DominationLevel=3 //Integer: Range: 0 to 10 DominationBonus=0 //Integer: Range: 0 to 5 OwnageLevel=5 //Integer: Range: 0 to 15 OwnageBonus=1 //Integer: Range: 0 to 5 DisgraceLevel=10 //Integer: Range: 0 to 25 DisgraceBonus=3 //Integer: Range: 0 to 10 Note: Setting a 'Level' less than 3 will effectively remove it. The vendettas were generally meant to go: Domination, Ownage, Disgrace. However, you can skip a vendetta or reorder them through the mutator's configuration. NOTES: Vendetta was coded and tested with the 3355 patch, but it should work with any retail UT2004 version. Please report any issues to the e-mail address above. CHANGELOG: 06/19/2005- Version 4 compiled and tested. Fixed victim messages lifetime settings. This version is final, and the development files will be available under the Open Unreal Mod License. 06/02/2005- Version 3 compiled and tested. Added bonus system: kill streak tracking, revenge tracking, bonus messages, config vars for bonus levels and values, and a config toggle for bonus messages. Added a config toggle for icons in case people only want to use the bonus system. 04/10/2005- Version 2 compiled and tested. Added code to remove icons when players are out of lives and after team switches. Added a check to remove icons for invisible players. Worked on the positioning of icons over vehicles. Prepared the development files for release under the Open Unreal Mod License. 03/27/2005- Version 1 compiled and tested. Discovered bad code in my previous ModifyPlayer/LinkedReplicationInfo system of spawning and storing per player info. Also, the LinkedReplicationInfo cannot be removed with a loop in NotifyLogout. This will break the LinkedReplicationInfo chain. Q InstaGib must be updated to Version 4 or higher fix this issue. All my other mutators will use new code to maintain compatibility.
